Iron Dragon & the walkway

I went to Cedar Point for the first time since I was like 4, and I loved walking down the walkway along Iron Dragon, and watching the roller coaster go through the mist and the trees. With Top Thrill Dragster moving in, are they taking out this walkway?

The midway is there, and the parts you could see before of ID are still there... and a lot more. The entire side of the ride is pretty much exposed, and I don't mean that in a good way. The part after the second lift that was so dramatic with the trees near by will, I bet, be far less dramatic.

Is there enough room in b/w TTD and ID to replant trees and give that old affect again? That was the best part of the ride, zooming through the trees.

There is room to maybe replace some trees, but not anything like it was before.
So they took out all the trees then?

The fence that isolated ID's "low zone" is about 20 feet from the exit platform.

Well, we could either have a new coaster and less landscaping, or no new coaster and keep the trees. Which is worse?

I was just there like 3 weeks ago in the freezing cold walking around...and everything is like EXACTLY the same...no need to fret!

But you can't see the effect unless your on the ride. It doesn't do good because you can't see the trees that well from the midway.

I think they will replace most of the trees but it would take a couple of years for the trees to grow back to the way they were or close to the way they were.

I'm with that, I don't ride ID that often anyways.

Does anyone know if they are going to open the area of the lagoon across from power tower? In this picture, you can see it is still filled in with dirt. I think it will look odd to walk down the midway and still see it filled in and then open back up by Iron Dragons spiral.

I hope so, but i doubt it. I liked seeing the lagoon right next to power tower, but oh well now we have TTD's awsome station to look at.

There will still be water under ID's prezel finally so I am not sure how much an impact that "missing" water will make for that area of the park. I think we'll be more caught up w/ TTD shear height than the filled in land.

I loved the lagoon in that section of the park, but I'd rather they plant some new trees in the filled part of the lagoon then put water back. I think it's possible to both build new coasters and be conciderate of the natural surroundings in the park. I think they would be doing this to plant some new trees in that area...and I don't want to hear that Cedar Point put the lagoon in themselves...What looks good looks good. Back to back steel is not very attractive at all and I'd rather they have less roller coasters than all coasters and no landscaping.
