Snapped some photos today of some markings I found between rows 19-20 in the lake side of the main parking lot. What does it all mean? Probably nothing. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what everyone thinks.

Going to head back to the park and ride some more coasters!

On this aerial shot, it looks like they could have been marks used to put cones on, maybe for driving?

Interesting... I was messing around with that "live" map and if you start dragging around Maverick, it will sometimes change into White Water Landing. Kinda like going back in time. Very cool.
^ I noticed the same thing the other day with the birds eye view. Some times it will also change the camera angle on TTD and Gemini.
How far out in the lot is that?
I know the Summer of 04, when I worked there, they had that whole part of the lot blocked off for fireworks... so im not sure.

I feel that this is definitely for the fireworks. I first thought it was for the cones they put out in the morning because sometimes the traffic ops don't know what they are doing (lol). But then after looking at the live map, I realise that it is for the fireworks.
ask me for my facebook.
The fireworks are launched from the beach, but a section of the parking lot is still blocked off.
Yeah, I knew they blocked off that section for some reason...
But who knows... maybe it is for that long awaited Prefab Wooden Impulse Coaster....

The markings look to be about the size of the space that a cone would take up and in the overhead shot it looks like they are placed in the exaxct same area. It looks almost like one of those set-ups they use for drivers tests. I had no idea they used the cp parking lot for that.

They dont update that much. I looked at my house and the neighbors that moved away almost a year and a half ago, their car is still in the driveway.
Firemen never die, they just burn forever in the hearts of the people whose lives they saved
If you'll notice, if you move the map around the "turn" is a straight shot from the road in the parking lot.
There are also plenty of other cones, all with certain "maneuvers". You'll also find there is a cop car sitting near one, thus leading me to believe that cops use the parking lot in the off season to train, or test their officers.
I know I've seen aerial shots of Fiesta Texas with similar courses set up.
