I have a question for a few of you out there. I just returned from the Point. I was there May 8th, 9th and 10th. Had a great trip, the weather was beautiful and the crowds were light. Now don't get me wrong, I'm as much of a cp and roller coaster freak as the next person. I never get tired of coasters and I would love to return to cp a lot more than I do ( I live eight hours away so I'm only able to come about 2 or 3 times a year ). Every morning I was there and every morning I've ever been there, there was a group of older gentlemen waiting for the gates to open so they could run to MF. That's fine, I understand that's a tradition and a lot of people do it. The problem I have though, is throughout the day, I saw these same men literally running people over, including small children, so they could run everywhere they went, even in the que lines. Has anyone else encountered these morons? I was in the station at Dragster when one of them came through the turnstile, literally bumped a 7-8 year old girl out of the way, and ran to get in line when he was already going to have to wait a few rides to get on anyway. Enthusiam is one thing, but what in the world is wrong with these genetic defectives???
I'm not sure who you're talking about off the top of my head... but I will say that running is not permitted at Cedar Point... ;)

All I have to say is that's down right pathetic of them to do something like that. I absolutly hate people like that. And it's those kinds of people that make the day bad for others (like in this case). For doing stuff like that, you should be either A) sternly warned, or B) Kicked out of the park!!

You're absolutely right TTD. I could be a little more understanding if it were kids, but these guys are probably in their 60's. Every day I've been there the last 3 years or so, they've been there.
I agree with you both. It's kind of in the same boat as people who fell they can "join" their group in line; it really shouldn't be done, but no one ever does anything about it.

These are probably the same idiots you see speeding on the roads and endagering other people, only to be stuck at a traffic light one car ahead of you.
I tell you another thing, anyone of these guys pushes my 7 year old son who will be on some of these coasters (just made the 48" mark), they are going to get dropped..........
Great... we went from this to speeders. Those God-forsaken speeders. Damn them! Damn anyone who goes over the speed limit!
Unless you're talking about those idiots that weave in and out of traffic because they think they're so much faster than everyone else, then I'll understand.

Yeah, actually it is. It's the same group of old men that I see every time I go. They always enter at the side gate. The marina entrance.
We call them enthusiasses. Not people you wanna party with.

when i was there opening day, in line for Millennium, there was a big group that knew a five of six people a few rows back. One girl said to the other group "why dont you just join us" I looked at her and said because that is line jumping. She gave me some of the dirtiest looks I have gotten in my life the rest of the time we were in line. Didn't care much though, they didn't cut in front of me.

Now that was funny!! :)
Actually I do know exactly who those guys are and I am sure alot of the long time CP'ers do too!

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

That's what I was refering to. I speed just like everyone else, I just don't endanger people in the process.
I do too, Jo.
I don't speed..... for the autobahn :)

Well, the three older gentlemen I'm thinking of are probably the dudes you're writing about. They've been known to jog from the exit back to the entrance, but I've never seen them being rude or pushing people out of the way. If they made a habit of this behavior, I'm sure they would be corrected by the staff, since I'm sure they are known to all the employees. I don't know their names, but one of them told me he jogs because it keeps him young.
And yes, I've seen them pretty much every time I've been there the past three years.

I think I know who you are talking about too...one of the guys always has a polka dot hat on.

What do you mean on the Autobahn? Lansing does not have an Autobahn. Although 696 is kind of fun. ;)
If someone tried to give me a dirty look for telling them not to line jump, they would get a few back. Take the time to mess with them a little and don't worry if someone is bigger than you or threatening you. You're surrounded by a boat load of people that don't want anyone in front of them either.

I know him. He's a great guy and I see him all the time at the park. In fact he was the first one to the Marina gate on opening day. He runs, but I'm certain he's not one of the people you're talking about. *** Edited 5/13/2006 1:31:38 AM UTC by Top Thrill Dragster*** *** Edited 5/13/2006 2:48:48 AM UTC by Top Thrill Dragster***

I've been on Millennium Force quite a bit on weekend mornings. There's one older guy that I've seen every single time. He runs as fast as he can to get back in line. He's not very subtle...he'll run you down as he stampedes down the exit ramp to get back in line. Everyone just snickers and tells him to run faster. It's an odd sight...and kind of annoying.
