incident on Magnum 10/20...

we were in line for Maggie last evening around 6PM or so. the trian was stopped on the lift and a ride op was on his way up there.

people in line were saying they saw somebody STAND UP on the ride. the train was about 3/4 of the way up the lift. there were a couple of armed security guys in the station by the control booth.

the train comes in and a guy is escorted off the ride and out of the park. we know this because we could see it from the lift hill as we ascended.

next thing we know, we are coming into the sation and we see a cop car down below us, along the road that goes along Maggie in the parking lot.

a DIFFERENT guy and his friend are at the car, one inside and the other being frisked. their friends are walking across the grass behind the Hot Shots booth and yelling to the cops, who are in turn telling the guys to get back.

it got a little scary, as there were about 10 or 12 people in this group.

does anyone here know what happened?

our theory is that in the process of escorting the "stand-up guy" from Maggie out of the park, the CP cops caught someone else doing something and nailed them...

When someone does something stupid, and they're in a big group, that group can be real morons. If someone was standing up, they were breaking the law and creating a hazardous situation for other people. If the group thinks it was just in good fun, then they're going to think the cops are just being jerks (which is rarely the case).

Yes, it is possible to stand up on maggie if you can get a one-click on a couple certain seats. (from experiance) No, I did not stand up, but yes, I easily could of.

Oh the memories of Mike running up there to "check" a stander's lapbar and me and Andy watching the whole thing on the camera in controls and nearly dying laughing! :) Let's just say that as he was walking back down, the guy started giving him lip, so Mike went up and "checked" his bar again... :)

Someone I know was on that train (No, they weren't the ones standing up). Yes, the reason for the stop was for those people standing up. I was wondering what all the commotion was around Magnum Hot Shot's a bit before 7.

I was on that train with my daughter. I was back in car 4 or 5 and the idiots were in the front of the train. So I didn't get to see the "action" up there. I did overhear the guy trying to explain himself to security on the exit ramp. Something along the lines of "We weren't trying to stand, we were just trying to see how far you COULD go up." Then he said something about airtime. Also, It was really fun listening to peeps taunt these guys all the way back to the station. :)

now if we could only find out about the commotion around Maggie's Hot Shots was. it WAS completely different people than the peeps who stood up on the ride.
