In light of.......ANOTHER STUPID TOPIC

In light of the fact that TTD has had a 70% downtime don't you wish CP would have taken the $25 million and put a "REAL" coaster in? You know, lift hill, steep drop, inversions and so on. Yes this is my second post with this user (lost my 1st one), and I'm sure all you long timers on GTTP are gonna start crying "Jeff, close this topic please" but think about it. Maybe there wouldn't be as many problems or people wouldn't ***** about waiting 2 1/2 hours for a 20 second ride.

I will be going to the Point and plan on riding TTD which based on what I've been reading will be an awesome experience, but still, I would rather ride a bigger version of Millie any day. Less Problems !!!!!!!!!!

Any Thoughts?

TTD is a real coaster. What would you consider it if you don't consider it a "REAL" coaster?

And for some reason, you seem to have forgotten that it's still early in the season. Let them work on the bugs, yep I'm going to go into the same old thing everyone has said a million times, "It's a new prototype Roller Coaster" give it time.

I'd take a TTD over a bigger MF any day.

TTD isn't a bigger version of Millennium Force?
I'm not exactly a 'long timer', but Jeff, close this topic please!

Dear Valued Guest, I regret to inform you that Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, is not currently in operation because of mechanical problems.

Ok I've had enough of the whining from the peeps who think they have a clue what CP should have done with their loot they dropped on Dragster. Hey, Hind sight is always 20/20 Sherlock(s)! You'd probably be the same person I'd guess who would creame all over the ride with excitement had it been a raving success from Day one! TTD is going through some growing pains right now like any new ride has in the beginning. Granted its a bit more than in the past but they'll get it and it'll be another World Class Coaster from the point. So before another of you ungrateful whinners post another stupid topic bashing TTD please get your head out of the clouds and out of your A$$%$

My $.02

Preparing for Daddy 101 again!!

Would you rather have them build nothing? TTD does have problems and it sucks for everyone that it's down.

Complaining isn't going to get it fixed any faster.

Then why are you complaining about it?

Because the downtime on this ride is making CP look like "SIX FLAGS CEDAR POINT"!

PS: Who's the wise guy that changed the name of my post calling it (and myself for that matter) stupid ? Why don't you try to come up with a topic or do you find talking about the WebCam more appealing?

I don't think so! Just because one ride is down a lot, does not in ANY way make CP comparible to ANY Six Flags park. Cedar Point is too good in so many other ways, how can you even compare it?

Jeff, I think this topic needs to be closed. It is already turning into a flame war.

Dear Valued Guest, I regret to inform you that Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, is not currently in operation because of mechanical problems.

The whole deal can be summed up in one word from both sides of this topic. Frustration. We all want this thing to be reliable and we all want to ride. I guess I'am considered one of the whiners because I said I was disappointed I didnt get to ride TTD when I went. I dont see it that way, but to each his own.

On this topic, I said before they announced TTD and while it was being built that I would have rather CP spent less money and put in a good wood coaster. CP has 3 great steel coasters already, they even have a decent launch coaster in WT as of last year. What CP is lacking the most is a good wooden coaster. They could have spent 10 million and had a world class ride that would have most likely been super reliable.

That being said, I dont really fault CP for building Dragster. Marketing wise it is a good move in theory. Also there is the maitenance nightmare that is Mean Streak that is probebly also causing them to shy away from a new wood coaster as well. I think they may have gone to big to fast though with Dragster and that is why the current problems exist. I'am certainly not complaining anytime a park builds a new coaster either. All I'am saying is that I would have preferred a good world class reliable wooden coaster over Dragster. Then again, I havent been on Dragster yet so maybe I would change my mind on that after riding it. I cant tell you for sure because I cant ride Dragster. Hopefully this year I will get a shot. I think I will have one more trip, late in the year. Hopefully they have the "bugs" worked out by then. Then again most of you here had predicted they would be worked out after Memorial Day. I guess not.

Not to take sides or start anything, but he does bring up a good point.

Do you think Cedar Point will deal with Intamin AG after building the last 3 coasters at the Point? They have all had their fair share of major problems; however, they deliver.

If I was to guess, I'd say we probably won't see Intamin in the park for the next attraction. Your thoughts?

First it was complaints about other people thinking #16 was gonna be over 400ft. Second it was complaints TTD was only L-TH-B. Third, it was complaints about the theming falling off. Now it's complaints about TTD's downtime and that it should have never been made. Some people can never be happy.

"No"

Ryan, I don't complain about TTD being down....it happens. But I agree, the complaints are excessive. I think some people need a reminder that this wonderful 80-90 degree weather will pass if they don't get out and enjoy it.

On that note, I hate the removal of the train themeing. That just pisses me off. The train themeing was what made TTD a real dragster. Now it's just another lame attempt of CP themeing that proves once again that CP sucks at theme.

I'm probaly going next week and it is already said to be down all next week. You don't see me complaing about it. Cedar Point has so much more to offer than TTD.
Not really, I like it better than Millie, there is more thrill to it. They are hard to compare because they are very different, but twenty years from now, if I had to pick between the two, I would have to get on Dragster. It gave me an experience I never had before. So I think that it was money well spent.

But for the next coaster,I want it to take time to get through, something Xtreme. Something thrilling, yet it offers the elements of coasters of the past.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

That wise guy that changed the topic of your post would have been one of the Mod.'s of the message board.

And the addition that he made is perfect for your post.

The title change is perfect, all this is is a waste of website space. We all know Dragster has problems, you don't need to start a new topic every time you complain.

Define "is" ;)
Hmmm, after 2 and a half months of rain the past couple days have been pretty nice outside.

Things to do in the summer:

Go to the Zoo.

Check out NEW amusement parks.

Go to the beach.

Walk around a park.

Go rollerblading, hiking, fly a kite.

Grab your camera and take some pictures.

Take a drive through the countryside.

Point is there is more to the summer than TTD and CP, do what I did and find out what you are missing! By the time you find some new things to do in the summer, TTD will be running better than ever!
