In case you did not know...

I have asked a few people this question from this site..and they did not know..but I got the offical word from Michigan's Adventure that your CP pass is good there as we speak! (unfortunatly there hours stink..the lastest they are ever open to is 9) They say you have to go to the building for "pre-paid" tickets and fill out some form and they will take your number of your CP pass and your good to go. Thats the only thing i dont get about Cedar Fair parks..to use one pass from one park to another its such a hassle to use them..why? At least at Six Flags parks all you have to do is flash your pass and your in..Anyone know why Cedar Point or even Cedar Fair parks make it such a hassle?
Maybe because they aren't "chain" parks, the computers may be coded differently and won't read passes from other parks. That would be a good change for them to invest in, however.

Six Flags dont read your pass...just have to show it to them..at least the times i have gone that was the case. And to use the word "Chain" a park owned by a company is chain...hence..Six Flags..is the same as Cedar Fair owning parks..and Paramount. At least thats the way I view it..unless there is thing that dont make Cedar Fair parks.."chained" or "connected" to one another.
Michigan Adventure times arent that bad.... you dont need till 10 to ride everything there. Lines are short and theres only three coasters. The water park is the best part of the park. I really hope cedar fair leaves the one price for rides and water park.
There are 6 coasters there, actually.
Probably for marketing or demographics.....It is a way to "track" where the people come from and how far they travel, etc, etc....Likely used as a tool for advertising, etc.....I am sure there are far more reasons, but this is likely the reason...

To be honest, I think its wise from a business side. I would certainly want to know the how's and why's of park attendence....
Anyone been to Pleasure Island Water Park in Muskegeon Mich. lately? Anything new?

tohot2se -- you're right about a chain park being owned by the same parent company, hence, Cedar Point / Knott's / Michigan's Adventures would all be part of the "chain," but I see chain parks as having a lot of similarities: ride themes, names, types, signature characters and/or items (food, etc.) stuff like that, which the Cedar Fair "chain" doesn't seem to. If you went to MIA and CP, you wouldn't be able to tell BOOM! right off the bat that they're related, other than there's probably a sign or something. :)

The last I heard Pleasure Island went out of business a couple of years ago. MA drove them out of business.

Yes, MA has 6 coasters counting the kiddie rides. Soon to be 7!!! (hopefully)
