Impulse Coaster

Feel free to close this topic but I personally think CP should an Intamin Impulse Coaster next year. Does anybody else feel the same? It could be in addition to another coaster they get. Next year could be the year of the launched coasters for CP!!
Yes, I do like those coasters (Superman - SFWoA), and CP doen't have that much room for another coaster and an impulse would not take that much room, but Cedar Point doesn't put in cheap, economical roller coasters, they build quality coasters, so I don't think an impulse is in store, but CP may surprise us!

There's no way that the impulse coaster can fill CP's capacity needs. This ride gives 800 or so rides per hour. CP would need two of them to get any capacity. I don't really feel it fits the CP equation, especially since SFWoA has one. I know from experience that the line for this ride moves slow - only 28 passengers ride at once.
I rode V2 at SFGAm, and while I enjoyed it, I'm certainly not pining for CP to get one.

First we Rock - then we Roll!
Don't look at SFWoA for a good example. They have several rides that are not able to run at full capacity.

Another park has one that has two trains running on a transfer track type system. One takes off while the other one loads on the transfer, then they switch. It's very effective. Capacity wise anyway. It seems like they would be a pain to maintain though.

I don't know why other manufacturers aren't following the footsteps of Premier Rides. Their dual train operation on their Mr.Freeze rides are great! I've ridden one in St Louis and really thought it worked well. Wish Vekoma would have tried it with Face/Off. Capacity sucks with these type of rides, and don't think we'll ever see one at CP.

How about racers that intertwine. Triple racers? Talk about capacity!
Magnum Candy Man is right. I don't think this type of ride will ever show up in our park. Main reason capacity. The line would drag on and on.
Rollerfan, what do you mean that CP doesn't have that much room for a coaster? There are several places they could install a new ride.
Awaiting Jeff's "There is no space problem (tm)" ;)

As we all know, well most of us anyways, CP does not have a space problem. But if you look at the design for an Impulse, it needs a good amount of room for the LIM's which means that it's long. And there are only a few choice places where one could be built. One place that it could be built is along the beach; but I would much rather see a woody built in that area.

yes I love launched coaster! I rode The Outer Limits at PKI and I thought it was great! Although I know that the ride is actually slow. 0-54 in 4.8 seconds. Compared to Superman at SFWoA 0-72 in 2.8 secs or so. Or even Supersonic 0-82 in 1.8 secs! I think CP has the space and money to build such a ride.
Your right ...CP DOES NOT HAVE A SPACE PROBLEM...End of story. End of this topic....Can't we just relax and enjoy the summer? Let's see if we can go a week without a "CP needs a ______" topic. I am sure CP has a plan and in good time we will learn it. *** This post was edited by Old Timer Tim on 6/24/2001. ***
