Improvements for the Future

What are some of the things that you would like CP to do to improve the park, not by rides, but by other things, like landscaping, merchandise, food, etc....

Here is my idea...

Some of you, at one time or another have had to walk ALL the way to the back of the park to find out how long the wait is for Mean Streak, just to find out that it is too long..I propose that CP use a type of display center in the front of the park and back, listing the 14 coasters, or maybe just the major ones, their status, and approx. wait time. Perhaps this could be updated every 10 minutes, 5, or longer...what are your ideas???

( seeing as how we all know CP reads these forums...)

2002: Sweep Zone ?

2002..2 coasters..one park..
just a dumb rumor..

I don't know how this could be done (scenic ride, path, bridge) but it would be cool if you could get to the gemini area to frontierstown without walking around.  Have some way to walk through the middle.
Islands Of Adventures has something like that...but they are spread out across the park. It's a brilliant idea!

The board idea has been brought up here before by several others. It's a good idea and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it implemented in the future.

From talking with people within the park, it's safe to say that we aren't the only ones who have brought up the idea. It seems that CP has considered implementing a similar feature as IOA's.

Heck...the entire system could even be completely automated. The park could implement a system that would monitor the dispatch interval and turnstile count on each ride. Wait times could then be calculated from those figures and sent out to digital displays anywhere in the park.

... and a system like the one ACEerCG described is possible.  I would love to see a something like this, myself.  I remember that back in the first days of TTR and the infamous 250-post thread, there were many ideas thrown out for this sort of "virtual queing".

As for getting from the Gemini Midway to Frontiertown faster, I remember that since the old Dorney Park (or is it Valleyfair?) sky ride vehicles have been sitting in the boneyard, there were rumors of them being used to connect the Gemini Midway and Frontiertown.  Who knows what the fate of those vehicles will turn out to be...

Steuks!!

In addition to the above, here are a few small improvements I'd like to see:

1.) New "Cedar Fair style" fencing around the Magnum low zones,  2.) Remodeled and improved restrooms - think Camp Snoopy style with AC,  3.) Finish remodeling the backside of the outer front gate (looks like it might happen since the new LED board is there), 4.) Bin rentals back by Magnum Hot Shots somewhere (c'mon, no one is going to walk to the front of the park to put their stuffed dog up there, they're going to hide it in the nearest hedge!), 5.) Bring back the cartoon signs or at least something that identifies the ride better than the ugly "legal" signs and the ugly A-frame signs.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but that's what I have for now... :)

Floridaguy2002, I've seen what you are talking about before. Down in WDW, in MGM Studios, as soon as you walk in they had a huge chalkboard, w/ all the rides listed on it, as well if is running, and what the wait time is. There was a person with a head radio system on talking to people throughout the park, listening for changed wait times, Marvelous idea!

CP Top 3:
1) Mean Streak
2) Gemini
3) Disaster Transport
I love that large wooden structure!
The signs at IOA are very nice, and most of the time very accurate.  That would be a very nice addition to CP.

I would like to see some more trees up front and the new fountains that were suposed to be in place this year.

I have often found it curious that you cannot get a Lake Erie Perch Sandwich at a park located on lake Erie.  I would think it would be a natural, and easy to advertise, too. For that matter, do they serve Toft's Ice Cream there yet?

I agree with Matt above, and about the signs... I was waaay out west in LA two years ago at Universal Studios (this was before I became a real theme park/roller coaster enthusiast) and they had this huge LED board with numbers by them, for Back To The Future, ET, etc. I think that would be a great thing to be installed at Cedar Point!

Tim, Toft's has been at CP for the last 3 years or so. You can get it at the Ice Cream Parlor on the main midway, and at Beaches and Cream.

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Been a while since I had ice cream at the park. I tend to go for the waffles, elephant ears, fries, Dippin Dots, etc., etc. Still think the perch sandwich should be a natural.
