Immediate 2001 Season Pass redemption?

A question for those of you with 2000 Season Passes that have already purchased your 2001 Season Pass:

Is Cedar Point allowing you to redeem your 2001 Season Pass Certificate immediately for a "2001 Season Pass" sticker that goes on top of your existing season pass like what you could do last year by renewing your 1999 Season Pass to one valid for the 2000 season?

I thought this was a great idea, and a win/win for both Season Pass Center employees and purchasers alike. I'm curious as to whether they've decided to do this again, and, if they are, what conditions might be placed on redemption (i.e. you can only do this to a new 2000 pass, not a 1999 pass that was already renewed for 2000, etc.).

I'm mostly certain that the passes for next year will be more like credit cards, similar to those the employees have. The laminated cards might finally go away!

The official word from the Season Pass Center is that the season passes for 2001 will be the solid plastic type cards like the employees have, so the old passes will not be rolled over with a sticker. The vouchers you buy now will be redeemed for passes next spring, probably starting in late April.

I can't say for certain about the format for next year's passes, but I can tell you for certain that they're not doing stickers this time around.

And they're not doing pass processing until spring.

I was expecting that. Those laminate cards are so 1980s.
Yup, I discovered this weekend that the new passes aren't being processed yet. Guess I'll have to make a trip to CP before Dorney opens next year... ;)

Many thanks to all who replied--the switch over to a physically different type of pass was something that hadn't even occurred to me, but would help explain why they did what they did with regard to rolling over passes for this season.
