IMAX theatre

If the snoopy ice show is going in at Cedar Point Cinema, does that mean no more IMAX movies, or are they putting this in where that crash show was. I hope they are not getting rid of IMAX movies those were the best thing to do on a hot crowded day.
Bye.. bye IMAX...

This puzzles me....That IMAX screen isn't cheap! It cost millions, so maybe another Cedar Fair park is getting it? The IMAX was losing money, I mean, who wants to take two hours of their roller coaster time for a movie? You can see movies in your local area! The only thing I can think of, if it was relocated would be at the area where Dodgems I is? If I am correct, if not correct me, the dodgem they are taking out is near Camp Snoopy? Maybe they would expand snoopy with another attraction?

Funny - I didn't know 3.5 million coaster enthusiasts visited Cedar Point each year. If there were that many, I think I'd be scared to visit. Can't be that people actually visit the park for reasons other than roller coasters. Gasp! The horror!

The IMAX (and probably the new Snoopy show too) provide a nice air conditioned break in the middle of a hot July or August day even for me, someone who is there primarily to ride coasters.

The IMAX sucked! My whole family fell asleep! KRASH! BOOM! BANG! was kinda neat with all the music and stuff to keep you awake- but that IMAX had it's dark setting, comfy seats, and then- SNOOOOOOOORE!

Dont worry, you'll have trouble getting hot in an ICE areana, right?:)

First off, the IMAX theater was likely paid off many years ago. I don't know what kind of upkeep it required, but regardless, there aren't any more good IMAX films to show. It was time to move on, sad as that might be.

actually Dan,

You were in a show shown AT the IMAX. I doubt, matter of fact, I know the show wasn't shot using 15/70 film stock ;)

Haha yea - it was kind of funny having that small projection in the middle of that huge screen! :)  If anything, I think they blew it up a bit too much since it was a bit grainy.  Looked better when I saw it on TV, but of course it wasn't the full version. :)
