imax question???

do you think it is passable for cp to transform Imax theater into a motion theater?I think that would be really cool.and for those that don't like the motion, they could leave in a few rows of regular seats.
I imagine it would involve an incredible amount of tearing up of the old theater, and while it's a neat idea, I don't think CP is interested. The shows are the sorts of attractions for those that don't like all the coasters and thrill rides, and the imax is one of them. After all, if you want motion, you have tons of it right outside the door!

It would be a neat experience, though.

Sure it's POSSIBLE...but the question of it being PASSABLE(which I don't think is a word) among Kinzel and his associates is another thing altogether.
Hmmm...I'm trying to think back here.
I know we discussed the possibility of this happening before, and it IS quite possible; but it would mean a certain decrease in capacity of the theater. Also, there would be the question of programming for the motion sim. Off the shelf IMAX sim would seem the easiest and also be changeable from year to year. This would cut r&d costs down dramatically.

Would the show be popular, though, or should some alternative test bed be used? I think that most effectively, an additional site would be optimum for this test be optimal while at the same time, improving capacity of Cedar Point's entertainment. You know what "site" I'm getting at here. Although, ultimately, it would cost more to retrofit, and there would be some IMAX crowd flow issues to deal with, the pre-imax auditorium where the (STomp) show performs would be best suited to such a thing. Its risers have a shallower inclination which would be better suited to the type of equpment that is needed for seat simulators.

This solution would provide a choice for parents who want to relax in an imax show or for the more thrill seaking crowd wanting to experience a simulator ride, Cedar Point style. *** This post was edited by DaveTKoch on 12/31/2000. ***
