This is coming from the 13 year old that was scared to get on the Mine Ride. The biggest Coaster I rode was Iron Dragon, I was scared to get it on but after I rode it, I loved it! I wanted more of the little drop but I'm just too scared to get on a coaster. I'm going on July 23rd with my mom and my friend. This is my plan. Will it work?....
First I ride Iron Dragon then Blue Streak then Corkscrew. Next Maverick, Gemini, Mean Streak and Gatekeeper. Then Magnum, Millennium Force. All in that order. Smallest coaster to biggest.
The scariest Rollercoaster experience I ever had was sitting in the back of Iron Dragon. I loved it but I made a scene when we were in line for the Mine Ride. I was so scared to get on it but when I did I loved it. Then we went by Blue Streak and I refused to go on that. Then my mom wanted to go on Gemini but I was to scared. How am I going to get on Millennium Force?! Any advice, tips? Also I hate bugs alot and hearing that going on Millennium gets bugs on you made me even more scared!
It would work.....if you had the time. The layout of the order of coasters is going to make it hard. Especially if you are there only one day. You will basically be crossing the park all day.
My daughter was 13 last year. Just like you....Iron Dragon and Mine Ride was all she would ride. She decided to ride Skyhawk. I was shocked. But she loved it! She realized these big rides are FUN!!! From there she rode the Magnum. She had a big tear running down her face when we loaded. Once again she loved it. When she got on Millennium Force she was nervous, but knew once past the hill she would love it, and she did. She got over her fear of heights and roller coasters enough to ride Millennium twice. She then rode Maverick and Gemini.
Just last week she rode Gatekeeper, Raptor, and Dragster. She rode the Millennium eight times. So my advice to you is maybe try Skyhawk or Maxair. If you don't want to, then start with Gemini. Then move on to Magnum, then Millennium. Don't think about it, don't look at the ride in line....if possible. That's a little hard on Millennium with the train returning to the station. But all the nervousness is well worth it. Good luck!
I knew someone who was scared right until they were over the lift hill and on the way down. One of the ways he got over it was to stare at his shoes while going up the lift hill. That view didn't change from the moment they left the station. That way he wasn't viewing the lift hill or how far off the ground they were. Best of luck, once you get over this fear you will really enjoy the thrill of riding Roller Coasters.

In all honesty (and this from someone who at that age was in the same boat) skip the buildup and go on MF first thing in the morning.
Just get on and do it.
The more time you spend building up to it, the more time you give yourself to rationalize excuses for not facing your fear.

I agree with Jugga as well. From my perspective (and I love tall, steep drops), you'll have an easier time on Millennium Force than you will Magnum. I love both but Magnum takes much longer to get to the top of the lift which builds the fear. You'll be nervous climbing MF's lift but it's so fast you have no time to really think. MF is a gentle giant-I'm not going to say just do it...I was in the same boat as you at the same age so I know what that feels like, it's a hard fear to conquer but you'll do it...at your own pace and in your own time.
The bugs on MF aren't bad if you sit further back...don't ride in the first row (or second-people can duck them LOL! giving the second row a mouthful). Best place to ride MF is the back, if you like speed. Try the middle first...
Also...if you conquer MF, don't pass up Dragster. It's NOT a scary ride...the wait for it is brutal, the ride itself is a lot of fun. You CAN handle Dragster if you manage MF.
Hope to see a review of your thoughts of the coasters :) Have a great time!
Go to cvs and buy growacet, it'll help a ton, if the price of the growacet hurts take butthurtnol to get over that, it's very cheap.

I was scared to death of coasters when I was younger and I wish it hadn't taken me so ling to get over it. I missed a lot of ride time. If you feel you have to ride a coaster or two to work up to it go ahead but I certainly wouldn't leave it until last because not only will it give you more time to dwell on it you may end up not getting the chance to ride at all. Just go ahead and make yourself do it. I didn't want my kids to have the coaster anxiety so I put them each on a coaster as soon as they met the height requirement so they wouldn't have time to really think about whether or not they should be scared. We just did it. Now at 10 and 12 they've both done Millenium Force and loved it.
Forget your plan. For all you know you may get terrified from one of the previous rides and never go on millenium. Just go to the bed steel roller coaster first thing.
I think I'll ride Gemini then Millennium Force. Then I'll ride everything else I wanted to ride and ride the Millennium again if I liked it
Coming from a fellow high school student, I would say that it is best to ride Millennium first thing in the morning. If you can ride Millennium Force, you will never again look at coasters the same way. Also, waiting in line sometimes makes it worse and if you go in the morning, the lines are typically very short. If it makes you feel better, I first rode MF when I was eight and I'm still alive :) (and it was my first ride of the day)

It's my 6 year olds favorite coaster. Ride it first (it was her first ride at CP) and you'll be set for any other rides
i remember i was scared of it i didn't go on it until last year i was like i missed out on so much so trust me its worth it why else would it be rated number one in the united states the bugs are only at night don't worry
