I'm reading all this and am going to cry...

I'm reading all these great reports on the ride and how much fun everyone is having and how great the world is and I gotta wait until August!! Knowing that the ride is worth it despite the monumental waits makes me cringe at all those who have had a chance to experience it! Hopefully by the time my trip rolls around, the novelty of MF will have dropped a little- I'm guessing most will have ridden it already and won't be as hell bent to do it. That's what I'm hoping for, anyway. Have fun folks! Wish I was there!
Hey, Dont get upset becouse you cant be the first to ride it. I have rode it, and it is a good ride, but the longer you wait the more you think about it, the more it means to you when you ride it! WAIT!!! Make it have a once in a lifetime feeling
and it will be all that more special!
HAVE A GREAT TIME AT CP:)

I have to wait until July, Dave. I'm hoping the hype does die down a bit by then. I have a hard time thinking I might have to stand in line for 3 hours.

As far as waiting until later in the season, don't worry about it. 10 years from now when MF is Magnum's age, it will all be pretty meaningless. May or July or August, it's all the same. The point is, you rode it opening season.

Dave I feel sorry for you because August is the most crowded month. I hope you can get in line in the morning and ride before the park closes, not kidding.

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
Dave, it may be worth the extra effort to arrive at the park half an hour or so before the gates open and make a bee line for MF when the gates open. You can always go back to the hotel (or camp grounds) for a nap later if necessary. Based on history, I think it is a safe bet to say that MF is likely to have very long lines all this season.

The good news is that it may be possible to ride Raptor early in the morning on Saturdays without a long wait. The interest in Mantis waned by the beginning of its second season but the popularity of Raptor hasn't diminished much, if at all, since its debut.

I'm staying at Breakers for the 5 days (Ouch-wallet pain!)and have every intention of being on line in the Soak City enterance by no later than 8:30 am each morning. Getting up early can be painful (especially after my late nights!)but it pays off in no lines, at least for a few hours. I've found that the early theory works at just about every park everywhere. I know MF will be the King Of All Lines but I was hoping by August that afternoon waits won't exceed more than 90 minutes during the middle of the week. I'm not even attempting an afternoon ride of MF on Saturday. Last year when I went during the Saturday I was there(at the same time of year)I gave up at 1:30 in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day at the Swim Up Bar at Soak City. After a while, I didn't care! Plus the fact I'll already have had 4 days of stomping around at CP so the Swim Up Bar isn't such a bad idea! I guess we'll have to wait and see! Thanks!
I am another one in this boat. I can't make it until July. I was hoping to get a new coaster fix when I went to KI on the 28th of April (the day after SoB opened) but it was closed down all day. Since it was the first Saturday that SoB was supposed to be open, there were terribly long lines everywhere. I am just glad that I don't think I would ever run into a problem like that at CP. In the meantime I am looking desperately for a opportunity to go to CP. Being 17 I could drive up myself (from Columbus) but that wouldn't go over with my parents so I am stuck waiting.
Im not going until the middle of July.

I'm going with my family in July but I won't be able to ride anything bigger than Iron Dragon. That means I won't get to ride MF until Aug. unless I persuade my 4-H club to go, but everyone is saying that $25 is way to expensive and we should go to Wyandot Lake instead...
