Hi All,
Just wanted to thank folks on this site for making my 1st trip to CP so much fun! Wife and I were driving from Colorado to Massachusetts, and it was no small challenge getting her to agree to a stop in Sandusky. Hotel by 4PM... showers... made the park be 6. It was my goal to ride MF (all the hype). Thought I would warm up on Magnum... wow! IMHO, out of the 4 I rode, I liked it the best. I did Magnum > MF > Raptor > Gemini (to satisfy the nostalgia factor). Interstingly enough, they were breaking in a new "announcer-lady" on Gemini towards the end of the night. Her english (being from a European country) was so funny it was a real highlight to the end of a fun-filled 4-hours.
I am hooked on coasters! And thanks again
WELCOME TO POINTBUZZ!!!
Glad to hear that your "hooked" on coasters.
Just a piece of advice you might want to put another post like this in the Trip Reports section of the forum, just to avoid some bashing from some people, LOL :)
Again Welcome to PointBuzz!

Many of us here have worked at CP, so we have a special affinity for it's quirks. Maybe next year you'll get your parents to stop for a few more days there!
If you want a great site for coasters try this one:
A fast fact: Vermont is the ONLY state without a coaster!

Even Egypt has a coaster. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1348.htm?picture=1
Look it the background, you can see the pyramids.

Looks like Rhode Island doesn't have one either (unless theres one RCDB doesn't have listed). That picture of the Suspended Coaster in Egypt is pretty cool. Glad to hear your trip to the Point was as good as it was. Hopefully you can come back sometime.
Thrills Around the Corner!
That coaster in Egypt is the same coaster has GL's thunderhawk and is in about every Six Flags park.
With the exception that the one in Egypt has the helix at the end, so its not really exactly the same as Thunderhawk!

I know a few of the Vekoma SLCs have that helix added, but has anyone heard if it actually adds anything to the ride?
Thrills Around the Corner!
The ride is bad to begin with, the helix just adds to the failure.

I rode this one. Many foot choppers and high G's. I got spoiled by Great Bear at Hershey so it wasn't so great.

All I know is, every time I travel, I will look for the next coaster... and I will rely on communities like this to steer.
I like the database!
Oh yeah! If there is a coasterout there, it's in RCDB. The greathing is that if you click on the designer, you can find out ALL the other coasters they have designed.
For example, the guy who designed Blue Streak at CP, ALSO designed the Yankee Cannonball at Canbie Lake Park in Salem, NH.
