If there are 5 trains, take the left lane....

Just a tip for the folks on this board -

This may have been obvious to some at the park, but I didn't catch on to this until it was too late. Since they're a train short, the right-hand line on the ramp moves slower since they don't get a train on every cycle. Basically they cycle the trains through 2-2-1, so the left lane (front train) gets a train every cycle. I probably would have cut 20-30 minutes off my 3.5 hour wait had I taken the left lane...

Life is too short...go ride a coaster!!

This is so true.. I was in the left lane. I wanted to wait for the front and the attendant made me go to the right side to wait for the front. It was another hour with only 12 sets of people in front of me for the front car. My friends were in line with me and they got on a lot faster with 18 sets of people in front of them.. so left is better....until the gold train gets back from spring break.

I think that is why they were running 4 trains on tuesday at the end. they had 5 trains on but sometime during the day they took of the blue train. but thanks for the heads up.

A wise observation, and one that I made after I was already queed on the right side. Doh!

They removed the blue train because they were filming a commercial and it still had all the camera equipment mounted to it. Wouldn't it make sense (if they needed to film again) to leave the stuff on the train and just remove the whole train from the track?

Yea, I noted that as well (and I did take the left side). They were "ghosting" the yellow train.

I dont know if the programing would allow it, but I think it would make more since for the train behind the empty spot to make up the difference. So if there is the one in the exit, when the next one hits the breaks it wont just sit there until the "ghost" moves into load. It will move into exit behind the 5th train. That way there would always be 2 in load, 2 in launch, and 2 in exit. And the first break block would be clear so they could launch faster.

On the other hand, the 20 minute wait and then wait for the front seat is well worth the extra wait on the right side when all the sudden in pre-launch the train infront disappears. It is probably one of the greatest things to see!

Any time there is an odd number of trains (3, or 5) the left line will move faster. Three trains will "ghost" just as five will.

I didn't see the camera mounts on it and they were running five trains earlier during the day, after the commercial shoot was done for the day.

No they weren't actually, I was sitting in the bleachers for most of the day and watched them move black cherry, red, and green onto the track while blue sat on the launch platform. Then they pulled blue onto the transfer and off the track. Purple was already on the track behind blue. Yellow is "on vacation." That leaves 4 trains on the track.

I'll post pictures if it is absolutely necessary.

Actually, I'd probably say to take the left everytime if you can. There were 4 cars running yesterday, but everytime the rhythm got screwed up (because of a problem boarding someone, etc), the left side got the extra car.

Actually, "in rehab" would be more accurate.

The left lanes usually move faster in a lot of rides in the US. Its the other way around in Britain. It's suppossedly subconsious bc of the side of the road you drive on - most people will go to that side!

It's like that even when passing someone on the stairs. Ever noticed that most people pass other people on the right side? Kinda weird...
I was wondering this while waiting in line for the front seat. Due to its slow capacity right now, wouldn't the ride actually have a better capacity with only 4 trains rather than 5? It almost seems like they could have both trains unloaded before the other two get released by the station.

The left lane on highways in Pennsylvania don't move faster. Most people from Pennsylvania have never grasped the concept of passing in the left lane...
