If DT rolled back

What would happen if DT rolled back...rather just stopped because I think it goes down hill for most of the ride. But if it was to stop or roll back on a helix, what would the PO!NT do?

I don't know how heavy the bobsleds are, but they seem light enough that a few people could just push it...

DT goes downhill almost all of the ride. I don't think it's ever rolled back anyway.

Actually back in 2000 it did roll back.  It was one of the last bonus weekends and they had to transfer a shutle on from outside, and the wheels were cold.  It stopped inbetween the first hill and brake one.  Al maintance had to do was go out and push it so it would make it to brake one.
Joe and I came pretty close to a roll back on it, I think it was closing day? It was they day we rode it like 5 times. It was funny when we hit the wheel in front of brake one, It was like we were getting launched forward. Same thing happened on Blue Streak around thast time.

But, nothing will ever come close to the WildCat roll backs! ;)

We were close on Mantis at MM.  Nothing like getting stares from the ops when we were chanting "Roll-Back! Roll-Back!"  :)

One thing that would be very scary, yet kinda fun.....if you got stuck at the very top of Power Tower for a long time!!!!

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY HERE AT CEDAR POINT...AMERICA'S ROCKIN ROLLER COAST. *CLEAR*
In 2001, a basket ball was taken on DT...can anyone guess what happened??? Yep, thats right, it came out of the hands of the owner, landed in the trough out in front of brake 1. As the shuttle came around the curve just out of brake 1, the balll wedged itself under the shuttle, stopping it almost instantly... Maintenance secured the shuttle in position with cables, and it was unloaded... Most EMPLOYEES don't even get to walk through the trough, talk about some lucky guesets!!!!

Umm, all the DT Crew gets to walk in the trough at least once a day. It has to be walked in the morning to make sure there is nothing in the trough that was left by maintenance or missed the night before, and at the end of the night to pick up all the stuff that was dropped. Also the cruve just out of brake 1 is on a hill. Where did it stop? Just wondering!

Ok, if that ever happened, I don't think I would ever ride ANYTHING ever again. The three or four seconds that it hangs there anyway scares the crap out of me.

Closing day 2000, I was stopped at the top of the lift for, "guest illness" in the station. An op came up to the top of the lift and started talking to us. My friend asked him what happens if something drops on the track. The op said that they has safty devices to stop the ride.

The shuttle stopped pointed down hill at about 25 degrees... Of course Intamin designed the ride to handle basically any incident. The trough has small flanges along the upper edge that were designed to keep the shuttle in the trough in case of some type of mechanical failure... In this case, the basket ball lifted the front of the shuttle off the trough, pressing the 'up stop' wheels against that flange, stopping the shuttle...

I saw something fairly close @ VF's PT during Harvest Weekends (what they call September weekends these days).
I couldn't tell you exactly what happened--I'm guessing there wasn't enough pressure on the launch--but I came in time to see the car being lowered very, very slowly from 2/3 of the top down.
I'm guessing the pressure was insufficient because launches from that time on were absolutely freakish...the most powerful I've ever experienced, with vicious pops of air at the top due to the violent change in direction.  It's the only time the Shot was clearly superior to the Drop.

Umm no offence Gemini but I did work the ride for 3 years.lol
I worked DT last year and am ATL this year and we walk the trough up to four times a day!! But we are required to walk it twice a day to insure that nothing is in the track and maintenance walks it once before we open too!! So every employee of the ride or even ride prides and people working there on that day from another ride get to walthe lift and the track.

As far as being stuck  up on power tower for awhile...I dont recall why it happen but towards the middle of the year..The upside went up..it dropped a few feet then it just kept bouncing up and down in a slow motion, towards the top..it never made it to even half way down, it just stayed up there bobbin and bobbin!  I remember the person next to me was from Virgina and her two kids were on it..and boy was she freakin! When it finally came down about 15 mins later (if i recall correctly) the kids thought it was just great!  We were next in line to ride it, thanks goodness it wasnt us on it..and they did close that side down.

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

~~~Darla~~~
I recall seeing some monitors either in the loading area or unloading area that look like ride op aids.  What part of the ride to those show?  If I remember correctly(which rarely happens), there were 6 monitors???
