With all the excitement about the Gemini 100, who would be interested in doing a DT 80 some time after the Gemini 100? Like later in June.
Personally I think that it'd be fun, especially with the recent (although minor) improvements made to the ride.
Who wants to do it?

Hey guys, I'm back!
:) :)
You could do a Disaster Transport 90, or 71 too while were at it!
I'm not much of a fan of the ride. There no way I could remain interested for a whole day on that ride, even if they got it back up to 1990 stature.
If it was a sunny day at the Point, when you finally come out of the DT building you would be blinded!! I already get blinded after 1 lap, imagine being in there the entire day! Of course I am sure some employees have had the treat.
I would do it though, considering I can't make the Gemini 100.

Steuks!!
Hooray! I now have 1 post for every foot on MF!!

Let's see if we can accomplish the Gemini 100 first. I agree with Dan. Most of those who actually make it through the duration will probably not get to 100.

2001 park line up:
Cedar Point: May 5-6, June 11th
(other parks N/A as of 05/02/01)
I'm in Squishy..the DT 80 would be fun..
mikey :)
Majin, you would have to walk outside from the exit and back into the entrance. You'll still go outside after every lap. So the blindness wont be all that bad!:)

Sweet! I'm game if I can get a day off. :)
I'd probably be in for something like that.
A few others would be cool too:
1. CCMR
2. Blue Streak
3. Iron Dragon
4. WWL or Thunder Canyon. (Would be intersting)

Get with it or die in the process.....
How 'bout someone do a MF 14 or something, you could only get to like 15 at the most, too brutal, your body would take one heck of a beating!!!
MF 14? lol. It doesn't seem like a true test of ride endurance as much as it does queue line endurance. How about the Paddlewheel 14? Or how about we sit on the train all day long?
I actually did 10 laps on a certain white-water ride at a certain park in Orlando with very large mouse ears... Each time I thought, now really, I can't get any wetter. I proved myself wrong...
But it is a great ride and I had a great time! I'd for sure do it at CP!

I get the impression you all think I'm joking...
I'm not Joking.
Even if we can't do the Gemini100, I still want to do this. I'm thinking maybe the last Tuesday in June; June 26..... Maybe.

I really would like to do it, I don't think you are joking.
Eric - good point, I forgot all about that! ;) Man, if this actually goes through it would NOT be fun exiting and re-entering that queue 80 times, its a lot different than Gemini with all the different rooms and sets of stairs.

Definately worth it, and quite possible, especially toward the end of the day -- we would be sending shuttles empty toward the end because the line just wasn't long enough. Beware the weather though, even though it's inside we all know the problems with trying to dry the trough. And DT sets up a lot more than other coasters -- That can take up to 7-8 minutes to fix, and even though it doesn't sound like much, a few of those can throw you way off!
But it sounds great, and if I could, I'd be there! Don't count me out quite yet! :)

do it the same day as gemini 100 so i can know of a bunch of people not in the magnum ,raptor ,mantis ,mf lines for a day :)
i think it would be rough doing gemini 100 with magnum staring right at you all day now that i think about it.

Majin Heero:
That's where there's a challenge. It's a longer queue path than the Gemini. It's also dark in places. The daylight/darkness contrast also adds a bit of a challenge also, eyes take a while to adjust.
I'm really thinking June 26th here. I'll let you all know for sure in a day or so.
And just think, we could say our goal is to "Travel from Sandusky to Alaska 80 times in a day." Or "Conquering space pirates repeatedly." Or "The ride may not have a theme, but we sure do!" Boy, that sounds cheezy... also true.

For Disaster, it might be better to wait until the end of the season when the queue has been shifted to the other end of the building while they're preparing for Halloweekends. Much shorter distance then.
