Looking at my scrapbook of CP photos and past pictures got me to thinking. I'm wondering if somebody, somewhere in the world has amateur (not from pics/magazines) interior (inside) pictures/video of the old Earthquake ride or Upside Down funhouse? I have quite a few of the interior of Pirate Ride. I remember both vividly from my childhood and would love to see pics of the old ballroom scene, buildings falling down, also from the funhouse: the "eyes" room, tilted room, upside down room with the old lady in the rocking chair on the ceiling.
I've seen similar pics (from Lake Compounce park) of the outside of the old Chance model Rotor (when it was behind the Arcade 1967-84) but it doesn't seem as though many people have taken pics of the outside of the one at CP. Some others I want to see are the old Go-Karts(grand prix) by the beach from the late 60's, amateur photos of the Zugspitze from 1966-1971 (not from brochures/magazines), A nice close-up shot of the Twister ride (from 1961-1973)either by the beach, on the midway, or back in Frontiertown. I have one in the distance/ also seen videos of it. Last but not least, an inside (like you were standing inside today's petting farm) picture of the old Petting Zoo exhibit that was on the midway in 1964, where Earthquake would end up going the next year. I already have an outside picture so don't need that.
Besides personally experiencing these things, has anyone ever seen any of this stuff recently, known anyone to have them, own any of it? Just curious.
I do have one picture (crappy quality) of the electric go-carts. You can see it here:

Thanks Pete, that's awesome! Do you own that pic of the Go-Karts? What is the original size of the pic? I can tell those go-karts are definitely of the CP variety by looking at the white/blue striped canvas roof above the track. If you are interested in selling it, PM me and maybe we can work something out. I'm currently working on a project to keep CP's history alive and it's something I can use.
On another note, here's a similar (not Cedar Point's)
version of the Rotor that I was talking about that used to be behind the Arcade. Just looking for an exterior pic (not inside the ride)of Cedar Point's. It's the 6th picture. Enjoy!

I do own the picture, that's me sitting in the kart. :) I'll PM you, I have a number of pictures, many not scanned, but I'm in the process of making higher quality scans. That particular picture came from a roll film point and shoot camera from the sixties, I forget the size of the film, but the print was a square drug store print from that era. If you're doing this project for personal use, you can have the image. If it is a for profit commercial product, we can discuss a small fee for the image.

Great pic Pete. Thanks for taking me back this morning to a ride I used to spend a lot of ride tickets on.
Yes, thanks again Pete. I PM'd you. My goal in starting this thread was with the hope that some of these forgotten images would surface again after being lost for decades. The ko-kart pic is a good start. Now if someone can find the others, and let us know via this thread (or PM me), that would be great. Check the grandparents photo albums maybe?
On another note, I just recently got a hold of a Loch Ness monster pic (in the lagoons)from 1966. You could see him when you were riding the railroad.
And yes, I do vaguely remember that Earthquake mural with some sort of town/ church in the background? A close up of that would be nice...
Can you show us the loch ness monster pic?

Yeah, here he is looking to the right from the CP/LE railroad train (approximately) where Mine Ride is today.
Please don't copy the picture, I own the rights. Thanks!
