Ice+Rides=Bad?

I was sitting and thinking about the weather that we are having, and I was wondering if ice or snow have any effect on the rides at all?

I would think that they would have a effect but I really dunno if it would be large. I can see it going to be a large or I could be way off and it doesn't do squat.

Well, some of these rides have been there for decades and it's all good.

yeah think about blue streak, i mean i gets the wind, ice and rain off the bay, (from the west, and north, and northwest) it's wood, and it's been there for 35? years. and mean streak gets the brunt of it too. and well... the structure is still okay. so..

I'm sure they do a lot to make sure not only the rides but all the buildings withstand the winters. and all the bad snow and ice storms.

Think of CPs oldest structures- the original part of the Breakers and the Coliseum. They were both built in 1905 and still standing strong. Let's see...2002 will be their 98th season.

Lets not forget The Grand Pavilion. Though it's been through a lot of changes, it's been standing there since 1888.

Whoops! How could I forget. If you ever compare an old picture of it to a new one, you certainly see all of those differences. It has a more colonial apperance and the distinctive tower was taken down long ago. Boy, how times have changed.

I think at the end of each year they oil the tracks so Ice/Snow dosn't stick.

Wicked Twister Rocks

The sonow and ice shouldnt have an effect on the steel coasters such as MF Mantis Raptor becuase those are some of the newer rides if ya think about and plus theyve withstood some of the worst winters weve had. So I think it shouldnt have an effect on the new rides but some of the wood rides and the old rides, it might have an effect, but not a really huge one
