Today's Sandusky Register features a series of articles regarding last weeks IAAPA trade show in Atlanta. The article had a few tidbits related specifically to Cedar Point.

- Smaller "filler" rides are on the drawing board for the 2002 season.

- Michael Jordan to the Max will be the 2001 IMAX film. http://www.mjtothemax.com

- The park will introduce FotoZap to guests. The booth will take photos and deliver the image to any e-mail address.

The things i hate most. Filler rides and Jordan. GO CAVS. The filler rides better mean a coaster that is only 175 feet tall.

If they're building a coaster, they aren't going to talk about it yet.

They would probebly announce it toward the end of the 2001 season. If they get a new one.

"filler rides" what does this mean exactly?does it mean flat rides?they do need some more flat rides like a top spin or a gravitron type ride.i persenaly would like to see a dark ride.

PKI had FotoZap, or something like it, this past season. My personal opinion: why would anyone pay for such a thing? I remember that it wasn't cheap...something in the neighborhood of $5

Filler rides?? Im guessing that means flat rides. Sounds great but what about the rumored big project in 2002? I hate to tell you but if Cedar Point doesnt build a coaster for two years they are going to be passed up fast. They may be passed next year. As for new rides, the motion simulator sounds great, and I think we NEED a dark ride!!! Cedar Point, king of rides, doesnt have a dark ride. I think that should change also.

Just my 2 cents
"I hate to tell you but if Cedar Point doesnt build a coaster for two years they are going to be passed up fast."

Passed up? What, you mean that record of most rides, or the one about most coasters?

...who cares? I mean, really, who cares? Do you think people will stop going to Cedar Point just because Six Flags Magic Mountain or PKI has more coasters? To be frank, hell no.

Just because CP has the most of something, that doesn't make it the best in the world. There are arguments for Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens Williamsburg / Tampa, and many other parks that they're the "best in the world", and they don't have anywhere near 14 coasters.

They don't need a "big" project every 2 years to stay alive, either.

Did I mention that they wouldn't be talking about a new coaster this far in advance if they were going to build one?

hint... hint....?
I will reaffirm what Jeff is saying:

Hint...hint...
Personally, I don't see how that's a hint at all. He's saying they wouldn't be talking about it this early, which means nothing.

Kinzel mentioned that CP tries to stay, I believe, 2 years ahead of the curve. That means whatever they have in plan for next year has been pretty much set since '99. I'll guess they wrapped up '02 plans sometime this year...

Which means of course they know about a (probably) big project for '02, why do we need hints? Nobody's going to tell us what it is until this time next year, probably.

Okay if they aren't talking about it yet... and it is all but confirmed that a new roler coaster is coming in 2002, HOW MUCH MORE OF A HINT DO YOU NEED?!?!

-------------
"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
Some stats would be nice... :) 2002 is still far away. I say we live in the now, and enjoy this winter and next summer before we worry about '02
Why is it all but confirmed for '02?

So becuase they are not talking about a rollercoaster for 2002 means they are going to biuld one and if they were talking about a new rollercoaster for 2002 means they are not? What? I mean sure they do this every year before they build a new one but does anyone REMEMBER 1993? I am sure they were not taking about building one and so they did not. But at least in 94 they built the raptor. I dont get it? I agree with Lynch, why does not talkning about one mean yes?
