I would like some information on Halloweekends

Hello. First time poster here with a few questions on Halloweekends. We are taking our family to Halloweekends Saturday November 1st. What can we expect? Are any rides closed down except for the water rides? How busy should we expect it to be? Also, one of our guests is 5"10" about 245lbs. Would he have any problems getting on the bigger coasters? Any and all information would be great. Thanks in advance.

ok first of all welcome to the Boards. You should have a good time on saturday. There should be no rides closed, unless weather or mechanical reason permits them from opening. The whole park is decorated in a friendly halloween theming. there's plenty of stuff for your kids to enjoy as far as non scary activities go. Check the cedar point website for more information on that. I would bring some warm clothes just in case, ya got to remember your on the lake.

The scare zones will be marked so you dont have to worry about not being scared unless you want to.

any other questions just ask or private message me.

P.S Be sure to be at the midway fountain at 730 or 745 for the Screamsters Warm up. Itll be our last night and I assure you itll be something to see

Castaway Bay 10,11

It will all depend how hes shaped, the only ones I could see him potentially having a prob with is Millenium and TTD. Im 6,1 and like 240 and I fit so it depends.

Thanks for the quick replies. Im open to more information on what to expect this weekend if others would like to answer.

Also, how busy can I expect the park to be? I mean I know its a guess and all but what kind of wait times can we expect for the bigger rides?

Since it's going to be the last night for the Screamsters...you can expect a decently long wait. Millenium should be around 2 hours and Dragster and Maverick a little longer. The lines usually die down a little once the Fright Zones open though. And you said you're taking your family and if you have kids that are scared of the Screamsters, around 6:30 or so me and another Screamster are out in front of Terror Island if you want to bring the kids over and meet us and kind of help them not be so scared. And also expect Terror Island to have a line when we first open from 8 till about 9 or so.

There's a reason why many who frequent CP stay away on Saturdays...in general...but especially during Halloweekends. Crazy crowds, and lines that rival busy summer weekends (if not top).

Promoter of fog.

You may have problems with harness rides...such as Raptor/Mantis. If you have a big chest it may not work. Raptor has a test seat, however Mantis does not so you can go up the exit and see if you fit.

As for Halloweekends, it's a fun scary atmosphere for all ages and adults!!

Hope you have fun on the last weekend of the 2008 season!

My husband is 260+ and 6'7" and he fits on most every ride as long as he gets the front seat of most coaster cars. He doesn't fit on the Mine Ride, Wildcat or Disaster Transport, and Mean Streak, Gemini, and Blue Streak are fit-able but a bit uncomfortable.

Keep in mind that the extra layers bulk you up, but you need to seriously bundle up!! (Do I sound like a mom yet?) Take hats, gloves, and lots of layers. It's better to have them handy than to leave them at home and wish you brought them!

We visited on the 17th and 18th of October and it was cold...and very busy. The waits were insane on Saturday the 18th. Lines for Maverick, Millennium, Raptor, Mantis and Magnum (yes, Magnum!) were out of the entrances!

Have a great time and don't forget to follow up with a Trip Report!

Where do all the Screamsters get their makeup and costumes done?I keep thinking its the picnic shelter but I know thats not right.

Let's Get Weird.

We went on the 25th, and the lines weren't that bad, except for Cornstalkers and Maverick.

In the upstairs of the main arcade across from the racing horses. Haunt Central. Thats why we do our pre-scream warm up at the midway fountain since its right there. And it just doesnt house us, but also the Ride Prides that help us, and they should also get a good deal of compliments because they do a lot more then you would think and a lot of them really get into their part and help us out alot.

I recall about 2 or 3 years ago riding MF and barely being able to get the seatbelt on far enough. If I recall, the seatbelt has a color code on it and the seatbelt has to be strapped past that certain mark on the belt? Can anyone confirm this?

Also, do they have a test seat at the beginning of the MF to make sure one would fit before getting in line? THAT, I dont remember.

No and Yes.

MF (I don't think) had the stitch put in, that is just on Maverick. You still need to pull an inch through the buckle, but its just eyeballed by the ops.

There is a test seat however that you can try at the entrance to the queue.

I think someone said it already, but the front seat of each individual car on the trains have the most room, although with MF and TTD, i can't see any difference.

RIDE ON!

I disagree. I went with a friend I was concerned would not fit on MF. The operator helped him "stretch" the belt to the full capacity. It used to have a 1/2 inch rule but I have not seen that enforced this year. I know in the past the operators were not supposed to help but I have seen them do this almost every time I have been on MF this year. There was a different attitude in the past where it was , too bad you're out of luck. The operators seem to want people to get on now.

I know there is still an official 1/2 inch rule but honestly I never see it as an issue anymore. And yes there is a test seat.

The issue is that the belts on the trains have some varinace in length.

I'm going out to get some air.
