I would have went down with Space Spiral!

Yup. It was an old ride, as I am. I did think about the bottom falling out of it when I was on it. I understand all the reasons for trashing it. I do NOT understand why it was done with no consideration for long-term riders like was not done with Disaster Transport. That was the real tragedy. And yes, I would have honored to ride one last time, down to the ground, with her.
I guess I would be dead now.

Rides are removed for a variety of reason's. These two are not the first major rides to leave the park.

The removal of these two rides, IMO, were for maintenance, operation cost, and overall age and condition of the rides.

i.e. for D T: age, if you look down going up the lift hill you could see major daylight, attendance vs new ride, and overall open view.

Now for S S: Cabin condition, ridership, placement of new ride with the easy option of removal, age of ride, operational cost.

Yes I am always disappointed to see a ride go but there is a time that they must die.

Yikes.
