i think i'm going insane....

i keep having dreams at night about being at CP!!! i think my withdrawl is worse than ever...i can't really afford a trip to Florida, but i was thinking about Vegas. Vegas is cheap if you go on a gambling junket. i know they have at least one coaster out there, and isn't there another one out there too...Desperado? yeah that's it. that just might relieve my withdrawl...thanks for letting me vent a little. between waiting for school to end and waiting for MF, i've got a lot coming up!!!

Servo, I'd highly recommend a trip to Vegas. I always have a blast when I go. They have a number of coasters in and around the city. New York, New York has Manhatten Express, a tall Togo looping coaster that goes around the outside of the hotel. Circus Circus has the Canyon Blaster, an Arrow looper that gives a really good ride. The Stratosphere Tower has a small coaster going around the observation deck. They also have a S&S space shot on the deck that is spectacular. Finally, just outside of Vegas, is the Desperado. Desperado is a Magnum like hypercoaster. There's probably more stuff I can't think of right now. But, I think you'll have a great time!
Or If you want to spend less on Airfare, take it to Atlantic City, not as great but still one hell of a time.

MGM also has a neat coaster and a new one (not part of MGM) that just opened I think (not sure if it is open yet they said it would be open by new years). A LIM. And then Holiday Inn has a wooden coaster but thats just for looks "no touching please" (stupid yes?). Keep in mind that Desperado is not in Las Vegas but rather at Stateline. It takes about 15 minutes by car or taxi or you can take a bus from (help me out Holiday Village?) at the end of the strip by the freeway (past MGM and New York, New York) all coasters are about $8.95 with the exception of Lightening Bolt. That one has a pay one price for the theme park. Many other small rides are in the many other hotels.

Actually, the LIM is not much more then a couple of footers right now but it should be neat when it opens. Also, don't forget that there are many simulators in the Vegas are including Star Trek:The Experience.
The Manhattan express is a great looper at New York, New York. It has an interesting loop where you roll over and ride upside down from the track for a few seconds before you dive into a loop (hard to explain). Desperado is a good hyper about 1/2 hour outside of Vegas. The amusement dome (Whatever the name) at Circus, Circus is a lot of fun with the arrow coaster and a really cool simulator based on a funhouse theme. Unless you are a Star Trek fan, and I not, there's nothing special about that simulator. They charge a lot for it, mostly because before you board the ride, you walk through Star Trek museum. It's a good ride, but not worth the price of admission, like I said unless you are a fan of the series.

If you can, go do it. It's a great town!
i just feel like a junkie needing a real big fix....rrrgghhh!!! anyone else have any ideas how to deal with this in case i CAN'T make it to Vegas?? i really want to go, but one never knows...what if we all got a bunch of people together to go?? the more the merrier/cheaper!!!

I suggest you go standby....i heard airlines are not filling up all their seats currently.

**Remember, going stand-by doesn't ensure you will get there in one day, and sometimes might not be cheeper!**

i just got back from my trip to L.A. ... went to vegas for christmas ... rode desperado 3 times on the way there - my gf and i were able to ride 3 times each for 10 bucks each... should have only gotten 2 rides each but we agreed to sit in the 2nd seat instead of the front seat in exchange for a free re-ride :)

in vegas we rode manhattan express one time ... cost 10 bucks each.

desperado was very rough ... rode 2nd seat twice and back seat once... manhattan express was a bit smoother and the view of the strip is cool. *** This post was edited by probie on 1/6/00. ***
Wow! Manhattan Express was $10 to ride. When I was there in 1997 it was $5. $38 bucks for CP is justified now.
You would think that in the land of 99 cent shrimp cocktail and 4.99 dinner buffets, they would have the price a bit lower...what a ripoff.

Guide To The Point 1 is really good value...
Servo definitly go to Vegas!! Me and my husband go every year at least once, and we stay at the Rivera, we get two round trip tickets and 5 nights at the hotel for $745.00 through Central Travel, the cheapest around!! Also dont forget the new coaster that they are building along with the Nascar cafe! The only bad thing about Deperado,is that for us at least, we have come to find out that there is not definite times it is open, sometimes we have went out there, and due to wind or whatever it does not run, one year we had to keep calling everyday to see if it was running! If you need some more info on Vegas or anything else let me know by email, my inlaws live out there and maybe i can help you with some discounts or the best times to go!! Have fun!! Also check out the Race to Atlantis, in Cesars palace!! Great simulator!! Anyhow, there is alot to do out there and youll find yourself running out of time. Dont worry about the room or hotel you stay in, youll hardly ever be in the room, so much do to in Vegas!! Viva Las Vegas Baby!!
