I still miss the character signs at ride entrances

They were very creative and uniquely CP. The new warning signs are effective but they all are dull and look the same. But the old signs were imformative as well.
Actually, I would argue that the new signs are not very effective. Not only do they do a terrible job of identifying the ride, but they also do not help people out much because people simply aren't going to stand there and read that much crap. I was at the park for three months and stood by Magnum's "safety" sign for a couple hours a day on average and I probably never read the thing start to finish! :) I understand if they need to be there for liability or whatever, but they did not need to replace the character signs with them. They could have been put there in addition to the character signs like Dorney did.

Even if they can't have character signs for every ride for whatever reason (expense of maintenance, etc.), they do need more identifiable signs at the entrances of the major rides. Especially in cases like Magnum where the ride is not even visible from the entrance to the queues.

...and why the hell not have them beside the sterile, lawyer-approved signs? It will take people's attention away from the "informative" ride signs? Please!

The "smaller" Cedar Fair parks have both signs.

You know, I didn't mind the replacement of the character signs too much. I just think they should be more accurate. The ride rating is absolutely rediculous. From what I read, Iron Dragon is a 5...isn't Magnum a 5?

I personally also think they should have both signs!

"Is this the entrance to Magnum?"

It's still amazing to me that Magnum doesn't have a better sign.

All the coasters except Woodstock Express and Jr. Gemini are rated 5. If you ever go in Soak City, check out the ratings in there, besides the kids area, pretty much everything is 5. So they're saying an inner-tube slide is the same intensity as Millennium Force? I agree, the ratings are rather inaccurate.

"Talon" has a cool character sign ;)
As a guest I miss the Raptor sign because I was just used to it being there every single year and getting a pic standing by it every single year. As an employee when I was at entrance it was an easy way to see if a guest was tall enough. They would always check themselves out, and I could see they were clearly too short and catch them as they tried to get by me anyway.
One of the dorkiest (is that a word?) pic I have of me was taken in '97 in front of that Raptor sign....granted I have on a Raptor t-shirt but a PKI fanny pack!! WTH was I thinking? :) I actually framed that picture with a caption that reads "1997-in the beginning it was JUST an amusement park and JUST a ride!" :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

What are the other Cedar fair parks? Where are they located at? I have never heard of these till a few moments ago when I read a previous post up above. Gee aint I a real CP fan? lol. No, I love the place with all my heart and I feel dumb for not knowing this.

CP is the best!! I will never stop loving it. You gotta, you wanna, you have to hold on Cedar Point HOLD ON!!! :) :) :)

"Wicked Twister", "Mantis", "Millenium Force", and the "Cedar Creek Mine Ride" are the only coasters that I can think of that actually have a decent sign.

"Twisted Sister" is the name of the new rollercoaster at Cedar Point for 2003. Just watch!
