I never thought I would say this, but 20 years later... I miss Funkytown.

Man they used to overplay Funkytown on the midway so much back in the day. Is it weird that I HATED it at the time but now really miss it?

Out of the many "funk" songs out there, I choose "P-Funk" by Parliament-Funkadelic. Edges out "Get the Funk Out my Face" by Brothers Johnson.

I can't say I really ever recall hearing Funky Town at the park. The only notable songs I can remember hearing 20+ years ago was Manic Monday in Mantis' queue and a handful of country songs that used to play in Frontier Town. From my two trips this year, I can't really say any songs stuck out in my mind.

The only song that needs to be brought back is Phantom of the Opera techno in the MF queue. No further questions at this time.

They went pretty heavy with “call me maybe” a few years back. That one stand out in my mind.

I recall Funkytown being played on the Gemini midway years ago.

As a 73 year old, I love hearing sixties music when around the boardwalk. I have caught myself singing along.

I miss Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass they use to play over 50 years ago!

"We built...." then the next song started.

June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100
VertiGo Rides - 82
R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.

The last few years have had some odd choices for midway music. Ballads from Adele, Closing Time by Semisonic, and the strangest, The Living Years by Mike & The Mechanics.

I also miss the Halloween playlist this year. The main midway has just been playing the "80s, 90s and Now" playlist all fall.

Anything by Up With People. They played halftime at the first Super Bowl.

The only song I remember is Love Shack. Over and over...

Oh yeah I remember lots of Love Shack! And also the Halloween movie theme music during Halloweekends was particularly enjoyable when you'd be walking through a mostly empty park late at night.

I miss the constant Beach Boys in Soak City.

At one point they had a 70s music theme for the Gemini midway to celebrate Gemini's 40th anniversary, and that's why Funkytown was being played so much.

Wasn't the opening to LA Law overused at the front of the park back in the 90s?
