I found a great spot for an Intamin airtime filled

After looking at this overlooked spot on www.terraserver .com I figured that a double L shaped out & back like Ghostrider but twice as big should fit in there (600'x1200' L shaped wooden structure). I am going to try to design a 250'tall, 7500'+ long Intamin hyperwoodie with a mirroer image of Expedition GeForce's first drop at a 72-75 degree angle and I hope that I can keep the forces in the green. BTW the spot @ CP is from the Domon Drop area (remove the Demon Drop in favor of a 450' Intamin Gyro Drop somewhere else in the park) through the end of the overflow parking and using the beach area right behind DT & WT up to the beach entrance of the park without blocking it. I don't believe that south half of the beach is used bu the public and is a PERFECT spot for a giant woodie. CP could build a concrete wall or dyke like Crystal Beach used to have for their Comet Coaster. I hope that wouldn't be more than a million or two (for a dyke and some fill.) The dyke could be build at the very edge which I still think CP owns. Tha CP can still that giant Intamin hyperwoodie in there. All that would be lost is at most a few hundred parking spaces and the Demon Drop for this.

No, don't get rid of Demon Drop!

3 TTD rides in 2 hours!

Yes, get rid of the demon drop, the only ride in the park i despise!

Born To Ride The Rollercoaster

As long as they ship DD to VF, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, neither of these things are likely to happen.
So, you want them to use up the whole beach for this one ride? Never going to happen. And if you think it wouldn't then your mad. The support system on this 250 ft. woodie would have to be huge, plus the fact that it’s out and back, so it needs to go all the way down, then back on the beach. No way that this would ever happen.
Reading this made me think about the boardwalk idea, they could make it like the amusement park boardwalks in New Jersey, a wild mouse roller coaster would be great, it's a huge success in Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, then again there is wildcat.

I just want something that goes over the water, it will just make Cedar Point the ultimate getaway, making Ohio seem like the coasts of Florida.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

although a 45o intamin gyro drop would be so sweet, you dont have to sell demon drop. there is tons of room in the park to put it. plus what ttd CP said the support system would have to be very very large to hold that think up.

Cedar Point, The Roller Coast!!

I love all the height and speed recently, but I want Cedar Point's next big thrill coaster to utilize elements instead of speed, a roller coaster that takes time to run it's course of intricate flips and things. They have proven themselves with height, but the last two coasters (as great as they are) don't have a variety of elements.

I don't think it would be too big of a stretch to say that Cedar Point will likely NEVER see a woodie bigger than Mean Streak. I would be surprised to see anything other than a mid-sized woodie and even that is debatable.
I'm going to have to agree with Chief on this one. If we ever do get another woodie, which I doubt we will, I'd rather trade in some speed and height for a better designed ride with some great airtime. Some of the best woodies (Ghostrider, Legend) don't even break 60 mph. Bigger may be better sometimes, but not always.

nvm :)

Ya know, can't we use a better word that woodie? ;) Sorry, but just reading over a few of these posts just made me laugh.

Anyway, a new wooden coaster would be nice, but don't we go over this every year? I'd rather have them "renovate" Mean Streak in some way in which they could remove the trims. I am no engineer, so I wouldn't know where to start, but it seems like it could be done. Don't take my word for it, though. They'd probably be saving money in the long run, too.

AKA Cobraroller on Cbuzz

Do you think it would be possible to put a new wooden coaster inside MS?

There is a ton of room between the large turn and the station. There room behind and to the front of where MS currently is running. It most likley would not be as large as the MS but it could give both of the coasters head choppers a plenty.

I don't see CP opening a wooden coaster anytime soon simply because of the operating costs.

...And Ghostrider... why does everyone think its sooo great?!? I rode the thing like 10 times last year and didn't find it any better than Villian.

250ft + ??? even with steel supports it would be HUGE... especially right in the front of the park like that.

is it just me or does KEVIN DREYLING like to use the word dyke, i think they need to build an intamin multilooper or a b&m flyer, although the multiloopers arent the prettiest things to look at it would be sweet, and a flyer would be great to swwoop down on Milli island and such

A CCI with a layout similar to Shivering Timbers doesn't take up much space at all. I know they could fit one of those back in Frontier Town.

I can't find the space. Can a 120-125 foot tall out & back airtime monster fit in there? A Balder clone at only 118-135 feet tall would be enough to put a HUGE smile on my face!!
sorry but cedar point doent do clones, i think you must have mistaken it for a sixflags or something!
