I am going to CP on Friday....

4th time so far this year, and I have been on TTD 2 times, and both times I waited anout 3.5 hours. I have heard about people waiting an hour or so, even on sundays. Is there anyway I should know when to hop inline or go take a look for a short wait?

I have been there on weekdays, but the line is always crazy. I am NO NOOBIE to cedar point, so please dont get on my case, im just wondering how some people have such luck with the lines. Thanks! :)

I would personally go straight to TTD as soon as the park opens and wait outside it until it opens!
From my expiriences, its about an hour if not shorter from the soda machines to the station. The sign outside always seems to be inaccurate. When I rode, the sign said 2 hour wait and it was barely over an hour.

Stiny!!! Get me a danish

I think that after the last few months of drama if Dragster is open, get in line. My last two rides on it both had an hour or so wait. Just like predicting what the crowds will be like on any given day, it's all just a crap shoot in the end.

What time on average does it seem to be opening. I know everyone is saying that it is almost never open right away
yeah, if i hop in line for the early opening how long will i probably have to wait to get on? does anything think that they will adventually open early everyday like mf?

Your right, that sign is usually never right except for tonight however, it had said 1 1/2 hour wait and it was pretty dead on. I also rode the front seat about a quarter til 10 and I got a few bugs in my eye and a whole lot on my shirt. (because I rode front seat)

We were there last week and the sign said 4.5 hours. We waited for about 2 hours for the front seat. Can anyone honestly say that they waited for more than 4 hours for Dragster yet? I would imagine that a 4 hour wait would be spilling out into the midway.
I waited 6 hours hours for Dragster, but this was Opening Day, and they were only running 3 trains, and i also waited for the front seat as well.
Ha, yeah I waited 6 hours also on Opening Day.

By the way, the sign doesn't even go up to 4.5 hours. The highest it goes is 4... believe me, I've fooled around with it before (after closing).

most ive waited is about 3:40. Gerg..... =|
Basically the only way to wait for Dragster less than 30 mins. is to get to the Magnum entrance around 8:35 with your Joe Cool Pass (and if you dont have one and you just have a regular ticket, for some odd reason they dont really check!!, i got in at 9:00 with a regular ticket!!) Then when the gates open at 9 just start running for you life for Dragster. If its a good operational day like it was when I went about 2 weeks ago. You should only have to wait outside TTD for 30 mins or less. And then when they let you in line it should only be a 10 minute to 0 minute wait depending on how early you get to the entrance gates. But you have to go to the Magnum entrance because it is the closest. After you ride in the morning, dont ride until around 10:00 or 10:30 p.m. because during the day the lines will be very long!!, usually from 2 to 3 hours.
My usual thing is to get to CP as early as I can and head in the Magnum entrance. I take a deck of cards and plop myself outside the Dragster entrance. When it starts running, it does. I don't get out of line unless I'm getting off of the car at the end of the ride. I've waited anywhere between 45 minutes and 3 1/2 hours after opening day (which was 4 1/2 hours). I will settle for any waiting time I can get because I can actually get an occasional ride. Patience and something to pass the time make long waits seem short. My shorter waits are pure luck.

Awww, bad day? Take a different perspective on things. Try upside down, a barrel roll, a cobra roll or a corkscrew. Life can't be all that bad when your feet are over your head!

yeah, i've gone in early before too without a ert pass. if they catch you, just act like you're a confused tourist who doesnt know what's going on. then get back in line and try the next gate person.

I'm pretty sure that sign goes up to 6 hours, since I have fooled around with it myself. I spent many hours sitting on those freaken benches right by the locker rentals just waiting for Dragster to open in mid-June during the HUGE break down.
