Hypersonic

I have read most of the posts here (that was a real task) and its funny becasue no one has really mentioned Hypersonic. Basically all it is L-TH-B with a banked curve and bunny hill thrown in there. I think that ride is insane and anyone who has ridden it would agree. Just think we are going to be nearly three times that high and nearly 30mph faster! I don't see how anyone could complain about ours being a short course!

Those people that complain aren't worth worrying about. The best amusement park on the planet is building what will likely be the tallest and fastest coaster on the planet and that isn't good enough for them.

Some people are not happy unless they are bit**ing about something and there is no way to deal with those types of people.

Dan - Thanks for inadvertently answering my question about where in the World is there a real L-TH-B type coaster. I have now checked out Hypersonic at RCDB.

The main thing that I think will be much cooler about CP's new ride is that the track has to roll outward as it ascends the TH and then roll back inward as it descends in order to also make the 180 degree turn. This in itself is an exciting added element. I just gotta believe that there will be some other elements (BH, overbanked turns, etc) because there will be so much speed to dissapate after falling from the TH.

Let your mind go...and your body will follow...

Finally I can post........Dan.....Just to let you know the people b***hing about Hypersonic are right. I'm one of them.....I've rode Hypersonic 2 or 3 times. I live in the Richmond area and I have a season pass to PKD. The ride is 16 seconds long...That's ride time not sitting on the brake pads. Sure it's fun but not worth the 1 and a half hour wait to get on it. And it brakes down all the time. They didn't even open it till 1 p.m everyday this year....Even some of the employees say that it was a multi million dollar mistake. Ride it before you bash the people that talk bad bout Hypersonic. CP is the greatest park in the world. Let's just hope they do a ton more than PKD did with Hypersonic..........

Not a sermon just a thought.

It's obvious that the length of this ride will be talked about and some will not like it. Seems to me too many people are getting upset about the ones saying they think it's too short. I wouldn't mind 50' chopped off it it meant an overbanked turn thrown in. I don't like short rides, no matter how tall they are. Example, S:TE. Been on it and was not impressed. JMO
Funny thing, I really *did* think H:XLC was rather short. Oh sure, the launch was great as was the airtime. But it is *very* short. OTOH, Mr. Freeze isn't a *whole* lot longer, but you do so much more in that time. I wouldnt complain about a 20second ride that actually *does* some things. But if it's going to be Hypersonic like, dont set stratospheric expectations.

lata, jeremy

hey whats up all, i need to know more about his ride guys, does anybody have any new things about the ride, like what the trains look like, the name, and anythign else.
All of these things we don't know yet, at least not officially. We are still waiting on an announcement...probably for a while too.

I gotta admit this new ride should be an interesting one. You have a possible 400 footer which is a great marketing foothold, that and the speed of this thing. BUT the possiblity of a, how do I put it. An extreme rollercoaster version of Demon Drop. (way off here but stick with me) what I mean about that is the length of the ride. Will people judge the ride for being so short, after being in line for 2+ hours. Of course I have no idea what the layout is, they're may be more to this then "shoot, jump, fall, land". I know I'll wait, I'll ride, I'll enjoy, very few rides I didn't like. But what do I know, I'm just a hydraulic dummy. (sorry I do work in a hydraulic shop)
