HW (October)

I'm planning a trip during Halloweekends to CP. I've never been their in the fall and I was wondering if its better to go during Halloweekends?

If by better you mean colder, then yes! The lines are usually shorter too, and its pretty cool to see the park decked out in Halloween gear. It really depends on your definition of better, though. I mean some might like to be around in the hot.. or some might like to look at the 'scenery' on the water rides :P

Here's the way to sum up what I'm trying to say:

CEDAR POINT IS FUN ANY DAY OF THE OPERATING SEASON

I too may be visiting for the Halloweekend. Since Friday nights are only open from 6 to 11, is the admission full price?
Having to pay 45$ for only 5 hours inside the park would suck! Does anyone know what the admission is for those kind of days. I would still imagine that they would have normal price, but your only inside the park for 5 hours!!!!!
I thought I read somewhere that Friday's during Halloweekends cost the same as the Twilight ticket.
Yes, it is. HW is definately one of the best times to go to the park. I usually hit it about 10 times a year. The lines are very short, especially if you go on a cold day. It really isn't a big deal, just have to make sure you dress warmly :) I actually had a MF walk-on last year right before closing.

Friday night cost is $24.95. Keep in mind portions of the park are closed.

Must agree, Halloweekends is the absolute best time to go to Cedar Point. The atmosphere during the Halloween season is so much fun for everyone. Dress warmly, and you're sure to enjoy your visit.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Are your ready for some speed? We've got 120 miles per hour! Are you ready to get vertical? We've got 420 feet. Are you ready for the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world?! ARE YOU READY FOR TOP THRILL DRAGSTER?!?

Thanks for the tip on the price for Friday night.

I noticed when I was there this weekend that all rides are not in operation during HW. I was under the assumption that the majority of the coasters would be up and running but that they would not be running a majority of the flat rides. Is this safe to assume? I am interested as what rides are "typically" open during HW as well. I live in Nebraska and a bunch of my friends have never been to the Point and want to road trip in September.

Lines were that short? Awesome! Tell me the lenghts of the lines for M-force ect... Also, I was wondering how long TTD line will be during that time(if its running)? I'm guessing a hour if the weather is that cold.....(maybe even shorter)
Jeff, the only day of the week ride availability is limited is Friday. The other days all rides are open.

The Cedar Point website lists rides available on Friday for Halloweekends.

I've always enjoyed Halloweekends. We've gone every year since 1999. But last year was an exception. We went on the last Saturday the park was open, and the place was nuts! You could hardly move around. We waited almost 3 hours for MF and only got to ride 4 rides total the entire day. Very dissapointing.

Not sure if we'll try it this year, but that might be the only other chance I've got to go... Was anyone else there that day?

Yes, Halloweekends are fun, but it's hard to predict crowds (as with any other day of the year). Some of the HW trips I've made were as crowded as any hot summer day...

The fall is my favorite time of the year at ANY park, especially the ones that deck themselves out for Halloween. Definitely worth doing.

Just a question without opening any new topics but does anyone know the songs that are played over HW. Thanks

I can think of two off the top of my head: The Monster Mash and the Halloween Theme (from the movie Halloween).

Don't forget "Love Shack" while you're in line for Mantis :)

Holloweekends compete with the first month of operation for my favorite time of the season. As has been stated, it can get a bit chilly but it's not bad at all, and the lines really are much shorter than in the summer (except Saturdays, which are about average). I really find the park to be quite deserted on HW Sundays, with walk up to 10 minute waits on everything but MF, but it might even be walkup with TTD taking its spot as the biggest line. The Fright Zone isn't too bad either, but I could take or leave the haunted houses.

Okay, question without starting a new topic. Planning on taking a trip during HW. We are coming up Saturday night, plan on staying at Breakers Express, and then going to the park Sunday. Do they do twilight tickets during HW? We would like to goto the park on Saturday as well, but since they close at midnight, I didn't know if they would still do the twilight tickets at 5 p.m....or what the deal would be with those.

Thanks in advance! :)

HalloWeekends is my favorite time of the year to go to the Po!nt, because the lines are shorter, the new rides usually have their problems fixed (WT last year & hopefully TTD this year), and on Saturdays the park is open until midnight! Most of the rides are better at night, and this gives more dark hours to ride them.

I went on two HalloWeekend Saturdays last year, and I plan on going more times this year since I've got a season pass. I might even spend a Fri/Sat overnighter.

And as for music, I remember the Eagles' "Witchy Woman" being played over the PA.
