Appeared not as fast as I remember but still a great ride.

Red train was making a gosh awful noise when it came off of the lift sled at the top of the first hill. I remember this being a problem before but I forgot exactly what it was,but it was loud!

She was fine! Just like I remembered. Although, if you were in line for TTD, and watched Millie for a few minutes to break the monotony, she seemed like a kiddie ride just cruisin' around the track after watching TTD launch a hundred times. Funny, how that works.

MFJedi, that sound isn't really a "problem" - it's just the anti-rollbacks disengaging in a strange way. The yellow train was infamous for this in 2000.

MF always runs slow at the start of the new year. Maybe in 2001 it ran decent. The time Coastermania comes around Mille will come out of her funk. :)

Yeah, it was running real slow, waitng in line and watching the track after the last bunny hill, it just seemed like the trains were just creeping along the track, Not like before where it zoomed by the line.
Thanks guys.

I knew it wasn't a problem,I just forgot what it was that was making the noise, now that you say anti rollback,I remember it. It sure was an alarming noise, thats for sure. Everyone in the midway stopped and looked up at it when it happened.

when millie ran past the line it seemed to be really really quiet, did they put new wheels or somthin on it ????

For some reason, CP uses different wheels during the colder weather. You'll probably notice in the middle of the summer, there will be more of the white wheels on the train as compared to now. With the mid-summer wheels comes the really cool roar as the trains come by the queue. :)

Actually, not anymore. The nylon wheels are history. Jasper said on the construction tour that the wheel formula they use now performs pretty consistantly and they don't need to change them that often. A bonus, he said, is that MF, WT and Dragster all use the same wheels.

I think it was going slow compared to last year. Seemed to barely make it over the hills and not much air time at all. Hopefully by mid season it will be better. Last year It was running a lot faster.
If they have new bearings on the wheels, they are always a little stiff untill they get broken in. It shouldn't take long and they will loosen up.
MF is running generly in the lower 70's to upper 60's with guests right now. [drop to brake time] Mid summer it'll go down to the lower 60's, thats where you get the crazy airtime.

I rode it last thursday when it was running about 65 it was pretty nice. Blue was running very smooth compared to last year. So far my only ride on MF is front seat blue train, I don't look forward to riding it in the front with the mayflies though.

If you know my name, drop by MF to say hi, hopefully I'm not too busy.

SteelMonsters,

Are you the ride op from Kentwood MI? If so I forgot your name.

Blue people fly sideways when it rains....

Red was notorious for the rollbacks disengaging near the top of the lift.Working at MF Camp (Wagons) we heard them numerous times as it sounds like Magnums lift for afew seconds.

Jeff, did they tell you the basic composition of the wheels? Are they a poly-urethane blend of some sort? Also, I am not sure if poly-urethane is a actually a type of nylon, so sorry if that statement could be considered redundant.
