How's it running this year?

Just what are you trying to say, Mr Eskins?

Any maintenance department that can get 96% uptime (especially with Dragster in the lineup) I would say is a long way from sucking.

Never have I heard of CP's maintenance department as being reffered to as one of the best ever.

Shame on you Aaron.

No i am Just saying is that they do suck well some of them. I have seen them i wont name any names just because i really cant remember them, i am sure that i will later and then i will say it. But like in Zone Three, there was one that would be changing wheels and get pissed and start hiting it becauase he coul dnot get the wheel off or something. And then in like Zone one, I mean our TL, Tammy, a sup this season, shut the ride down because you could tell that the wheel was coming apart. If any of you have ever been in the station when a wheel has went bad, i am sure that you know what it sounds like, then again you might not know just becuase i guess you dont know what to listen to, In any case, we could tell, and so could they. The wheel had already started cob webing, and they come and they are like nothign is wrong, guest were saying that crap was hitting them (chuncks of the wheel), So when a sup comes and he gets a welt on the face because of it and shuts it down, and then they change the wheel still saying that there is nothing wrong. I do think that is a little sucky. I dont think that they all suck, but some of them are just lazy. Man i wish i could remember the name. I guess it is the guy that is in charge of the elctrical like computer system or something like tha ti dont know. I guess it dont really matter. But i am sure that you can ask a boat load of my friends this season that are working the ride, IE, Ben, Amanda, Kippie, Jeff, and they will all say that they suck. I dont know if it is something that you just have to see or what. I dont know, Now if you compare to like Six Flags or something, then by no means do they suck by no means, but then again, if they would have taken enough time to run dragster last season, (witch is not totally there fault) they might, JUST MIGHT not have had as many problams. Some of the problams were not there fault by any means, but then again some of them were. The Park in PA, they have like minimule down time on there rides because they change the wheels like on a time ratio, instead of when ever they are cob webing or whatever. I dont know, i guess CP will keep more money in there pockets that way or something. Allwell I dont really care, It is just an opinion, so i guess what you think, and what i think, dont really matter, just a personal beliefe.

Either way, who cares???? NOT ME.

First off, No the alarms don't sound when the air/exit gates are opened mid-cycle, and it doesn't quick stop the ride. It flat E-stops it. We've had it happen before and is *totally* the reason why you will hear each and every crew with auto opening gates to "PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE GATES!" If they push too hard on it, it will stop the ride, and that is an error that absolutely must be investigated. So if any of ya'll see people pushing, pulling, jumping, leaning, kicking, bashing, elbowing, or even looking at the gates in the wrong way, try to stop them so they don't push too hard and set off an alarm.

Secondly, I have to give our maint. (I can't spell maintainance so I'm going to abbreviate it for your viewing pleasure) props, personally. I mean unless you give them an unlimited number of funds (stupid on ANY business's part), you're going to have things that are not important enough to fix. Most of the time if a person is calm enough on the phone (like we're trained to do so messages aren't garbled and everybody can keep their cool), the intensity of the situation might be downgraded.

I have called maint. and they've always showed up for things I need them to, and even showed up for things I didn't really need them to but the wanted to investigate just in case. I don't really know about last year, b/c I wasn't leadership so I wouldn't know about last year, but this year I def. give maint. huge props.

Yes we can tell if a wheel needs to be replaced. Any seasoned employee can tell when something is awry with their specific ride ... it becomes almost like a sixth sense for us. We're with our ride for over a season, you kind of learn the ins and outs of these things over time...

Finally, the *really* awesome thing is watching how fast we can dispatch a correctly loaded train with me (or Jeff) at controls and the other at Unload 3, and Christa is on Dispatch Enable. Sixty second interval is *so* there.

For not caring, Aaron, You sure are typing a lot to get a point across. And for someone who wants to eventually work @ CP again.. you're posting your job away if you haven't already.

Ride Op '02-'07

Ben thanks for clearing that ESTOP thing about the air gates, i tried to call you but you never answer your phone. I thought taht is the way that it was last year, but i was unsure, i should ahve called tammy, but then again who knows, allwell

Ohh and matt, i dont really want to work there again. Like i wanted to but then i was just like no i cant do it, cause like i just dont do very good with stupid people and all. And i am sure that you know how they are. I mean for real, dont come in and sit on your harnes, cause if you do, i have no respect for you, at all.

So i dont know, i dont really want to anymore, so its all good. *** Edited 6/1/2004 8:33:06 PM UTC by Aaron Eskins***

I love it when the park is accused of being capitalist. They're not a charity? Get right out of town! I'm shocked!

I think it's fairly well known that 2003 was a tough year in terms of the park's maintenance budget, and I'm sure Stop Still Dragster didn't help that. Somehow the smart people that have the fancy silver tags (and years or decades of experience) made enough good decisions to get through the season and still maintain good uptime numbers, despite the observations of a couple of know-it-all seasonals.

Either way, who cares???? NOT ME.
Says the guy who posted two long rants on the subject.

Me saying that it dont matter is because i am tired of saying crap that i know is correct, and then having people that think that they know what is right, saying that it is not. SO i guess this is why i dont care any longer, i know what is right, and it looks like ben went ahead and backed me up about the air gates. Either way i dont really care anymore, it is something that does not need to be argued about, so that is why i am going to stop.

Perhaps you could do a better job?

This is really cool reading this stuff and getting to know the in's and out's of this ride from insiders.
As an interesting side note, Steel Venom's (Wicked Twister's quasi-equivalent at Valley Fair!) air gates are about 6 feet high.

Aaron: i cnat belive i just Spent 2 mins tying to read ur posts if your goin to say u cant deal with stoopid people *cough* please yoose propar grammer?

They are seriously six feet high, i dont know if i would like that or not, i guess there really is no chance of someone just hoping right over them though probably a smart one on there part. wow six feet, are they just like CP's though,(just bars)

Yes, they are just like Wicked Twister's gates, just higher. (Notice the period? They can be quite useful at times, such as at the end of sentences.)
