How will TTD affect the others

How do you think TTD will affect the waits for other coasters mainly MF. I think that early in the morning the lines for MF wont be bad at all because everyone like myself will be running to get on TTD before its line gets wicked long. But then again I believe that Cedar Point will be an overall more crowded place this season because of TTD so this may make all the other lines longer. What are your thoughts?

Well I personally think, it will be quite crowded this year. With all of the attention that *Dragster* is garnering, how will it not be crowded. I'm sure people from around the globe will travel to see what's the big fuss.

Also, in lieu of them cutting back an hour on Saturdays in July/August, I wonder if that will come into effect, too? I say, yes......

Yea, people like me who dont live close enough can only make it every other year or so. I live in Boston and the last time I made it to CP was for MF opening season. So i figure there are many poeple like myself who go whenever a new big time ride (a MF or a TTD) is opening.

Like I said in another post about the wait, I don't think we will see much of a change in lines like Millennium Force. Im sure we will in Magnum, Gemini's, and Corkscrew but not the others.

There are 24 hours in a day, and 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?

I'm still adament in my belief that Dragster will have the same effect that MF had upon rides in its proximity, and around the park. When MF was new, everyone ran there first, leaving the rest of the park rather dead for the first hour or so. Mantis also became crowded very soon due to its proximity to MF.

This year, I think that the guests will all hang and right instead of the left they would normally take by Coasters. Dragster will make MF have a short wait-walk-on for the first hour, much like Magnum last year. Dragster will have a huge line from the start (which we can hopefully bypass by utilizing the FreeWay stamps) while Magnum, Power Tower, and Corkscrew will all have longer than normal lines.

CP, I could not agree more, even with Freeway being used for Dragster. I suspect most people like myself will boltd to Dragster, get a Freeway stamp, and then get right in line for a reg run on Dragster. All rides in that area will also see longer lines than the rest of the park (IMO). I find it surprising everyone focuses on Dragsters impact on MF and neglects to mention Raptor. I think both rides will see shorter wait times this season (thank god).

Ozzgood, I live in Boston too. Planning to hit CP in May early June, and then again in October - maybe we can hook up at the park

Tom

wait in line f Freeway will be used for Dragster, and I dont believe it was MF its first yearThe only variable with your comparrison was Freeway

do not believe Freeway was around MFs first I do think Freeway will have cause I believe the only difference between the year MF opened and this season will be Freeway - that may spread the lines out a little -

Listen to the Veteran!! Go early in May, on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I am not telling the rest of the secret, just aviod July and you'll get your ride!!!

I think that they don't start handing out Freeway stamps until 11:00 (an hour after opening) so anyone that gets to Dragster really early and beats back the rest of the "bulls" could get a ride in on Dragster then get a stamp. I'm sure the first time I go I will head to Dragster, but then probably start off with MF ERT to start the day. Hopefully Raptor will still have it's nice walk-ons in the late afternoons this year.

I think that another coaster will spread out the people a bit, but the line for Magnum will go up.

Hey everyone, Could you Please go here for me once every day lol: http://www.outwar.com/page.php?x=286641
I got to kick a friends but in this game. All you have to do it lick the link, Thanks a lot! :)

This past year I got a ride on Millie and then got off and got a freeway pass for Millie. CPV, you're right, on certain days the park is deserted. When I go you can get tons of walk-ons like Rapter, Mean Streak, and a lot of other rides. I also got on Millie in less than 20 minutes. But I don't go in May like you said CPV, thats my only hint.
Advice, never EVER go to CP on a saturday in july or august. Everything has a long line.

That's what they all say. and the 2 1/2 hour line on Millie really made me want to listen to anyone who says that again....

OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...

I think that the rides surrounding TTD will have longer lines, at least I hope so. Last time I was at CP, the Mantis and MF both had 2 hour waits. And t just seems so sad when I get in line for Magnum, Gemini and Corkscrew and only wait 10 minutes or less...it's a bit lonely waiting in line.

------------------
Metallica, Magnum and Mountain Dew...what could be better?

It will be fun to wait in line and tell people about the time someone died on the ride during testing. Tell them that the person was thrown out of the seat at the top of the top hat or was thrown out in the twist coming down. It seems that there are always people willing to believe stupid stuff. Take a count of how many people take you seriously.
NEWS FLASH!!

The line for Mantis has went up because of the move to 2 train operation. Take a look back to 2000 when MF opened. The lines for Mantis were considerably shorter. They were still running 3 trains.

I was super before Superstew was cool!

That's exactly against my personal experience with MF's opening season. I'd heard the horror stories about 4 hour waits - we went in mid-July and never saw it longer than an hour and a half. I think there's a whole bunch of "I have to ride this NOW" people who flock to major rides like this (and MF in the past) as soon as the season starts and the waits level off as more and more of these people get it out of their system. I'm planning on visiting later than usual this year. I think the obvious tip here is to avoid weekends - but that's true of any park any time of year.

I'd still have to say that crowds of week days in May will pale in comparison to those in July and August.

I think you are all forgetting some of the other best nights to go, a Friday night during Halloweekends. MF's line was never more than 15 minutes last year, and the rest of the rides (that were open) had no waits what-so-ever. Even if more than half the park is closed, it's still a great time.

I hope Gemini's/Magnum's lines aren't affected too much.

Aww.....Florida! But That's America's Wang

raptor323's hit it right on the head. Halloweekend Fridays are fantastic. I've never had a better stay in the park than last Halloweekends. Stayed for a Friday night and Saturday. Friday was great... the park is far from crowded, so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere, and jump on any ride (that's operating--but, c'mon, you've got a great selection) within 15 minutes.
