Hmmm. I hope they didn't sell out. If they didn't sell out this weekend, I highly doubt they will next weekend. It's probably just a glitch. And it's only $3 extra to buy your ticket at the pavilion, which is what I'm doing.

We had an absolute blast last night. Nothing brings people together like a good event like that one. I learned that there are some ciders that i really, really enjoy - such as Gumption from Woodchuck. The tables that are manned by reps from the breweries are definitely a better visit. They'll chat about their products, and you may even see some swag appear :)
As asked above, not seeing an answer. Are you able to leave and come back? I'm shooting for going Saturday. I like the ticket idea. My daughter doesn't drink, so I can use or share her left-over tickets after she's eaten! I'm a domestic beer drinker, so new tastes might be intimidating to me, but worth the 'sample' right? I just hope I don't find one I really like, and not be able to purchase it closer to home.
Keep passing the fun along!
Brew Kettle makes some terrific beers, the Black Rajah in particular was great.
As others said, it was a wonderful event and a great deal. Definitely doing it next weekend again.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Was at the park Saturday and Sunday. We'd went back to the campground we were camping at to eat. When we drove back into the park the lady at the tollbooth gave me a flyer for it. The flyer said 10 4 ounce samples of beer and 4 food items. Not sure about how it was because we didn't go to it. But to put the cost in perspective. at KI a few weeks ago I got a 20 ounce draft Budweiser for $9.60. I wish I'd have known about the event. Really didn't pay attention. I did notice that the park, hotel, and the lakeside pavilion looked very nice.
Yeah, I wish we'd known you could leave and come back -- we easily could've had lunch there too (I ended up with 6 tickets leftover). The tickets are different colors for different days, so you can't spread them across the weekend, if you were wondering.
Strange that the season pass price is gone now. It's also missing from the mobile app.
As an aside, I really like the redone Lakeside Pavilion as well.
I hope the season pass-holder price does re-appear! Even with my all season dining plan, this is a great perk to be able to enjoy at a discount. The food selections sound awesome(less the jalapenos). Did anybody have luck on removing certain hot/ spicy ingredients from the sample plates?
Keep passing the fun along!
The nachos could be prepared however you wanted them, so you can definitely get those without jalapenos.
This was an excellent event (also a strong deal for $15), and everything seemed to go smoothly with minimal waiting. It was nice to get away from the crowded park and just relax with great friends, while sampling a variety of new beers.
Brew & BBQ was a smart way to attract new audiences to the park that don't care so much for coasters and rides. I read that Kings Island is having a food truck festival with a bunch of local food, and that seems like another clever idea that I hope we see at CP in the future. Bringing in local breweries and food is a great way to connect locals to their parks, and it helps give each Cedar Fair park a unique character.
From a business perspective, I think it's awesome that they're doing stuff like this because it's a good way in particular to get passholders spending money. I honestly was never a big spender at Cedar Point for all of the years I lived in Cleveland, but stuff like this I would sign up for in a heartbeat. Similarly, living near WDW, we periodically do stuff that goes beyond the basic park experience, like the Sparkling Dessert Party at Epcot, upgraded dinner or music events, etc.

I'll echo the question about the season pass price not being on the website. All it shows is the combo ticket which includes park admission. I sent a tweet to Tony so hopefully I'll hear something back. Hopefully I can get our tix for next weekend online but I'm also going to be there Thursday night so I think we can get the advance price at any ticket window as well.
Funny thing, I was just thinking about this "new" concept just the other day. And while it may be forgotten, it isn't new.
Cedar Point, along with just about every other park in the country, held special events all the time to draw crowds. Usually it was a band in their ballroom- throughout the 20's, 30's, and 40's especially, big name bands would appear and pack the place with drinkers and dancers who paid an extra fee for the evening. Parks also had swimming pools, bowling, roller rinks, zoos, and other up charge attractions that were separate from rides and the usual fare. Company outings were far more common as well- just about every plant and manufacturer had a day at the local park where employees and their families could enjoy the park and have a picnic meal.
When theme parks as we know them today rose to prominence they became contained, and it was intentional. Fences went around the parks and gates went up. The common thought was to "keep 'em in". Let them ride only our rides, eat only our food, and watch only our shows. I remember at Cedar Point in the 60's there were a few special entertainers, occasionally, and there were permanent outside vendors for refreshments. Over time all that went away, though, and it's nice to see that the mindset is changing.
Brew & BBQ is a step in the right direction. The food and the craft/micro brew scenes are both exploding, so it's timely and should be popular. I haven't been and probably won't, unfortunately, but in looking at the website I was impressed by the beer and disappointed in the food. Famous Dave's and Quaker Steak seem to be the suppliers of the 'Que (were there others?) and we can get those every day. BBQ festivals and competitions happen all the time (we even have a day at the Ohio State Fair) so it shouldn't be a hard thing to arrange and find participants. Maybe in future seasons.
It's nice to think that this event might repeat a time or two during the season, but the brewery guys and gals are busy all summer promoting their products at beer fests and similar things all over the country. This early season promotion probably fit nicely into their schedule.
A couple weeks ago I was looking at the big empty stretch along the construction fence and thought it would be a good spot for a food truck festival, or something, so I'm glad to see KI has grabbed that idea. Carowinds had a food and drink festival (served out of temporary stalls) over several weekends and it seemed to be a good idea as well. So it's awesome the Cedar Fair parks are coming up with new ways to entertain guests and give those guests a reason to become repeat visitors, and drop a few extra dollars.
Btw, if the fifteen dollar deal went away I'm not surprised. It's probably a lot smarter for them to collect 20 bucks at the door.
It definitely got me to spend more on a meal in the park than I would have otherwise, because I felt the value was there. I don't normally drink alcohol at parks, but since we did, it was a nice opportunity to check out the Breakers renovation and relax by the new fire pit while the buzz wore off.
If nothing else, as a season passholder, it was nice to do something different! And I'm so glad they're drawing more attention to the beach area. That whole stretch looks really nice now.
I'm on mobile so I can't view the CP site without issues as per usual, but was wondering if anyone could post the beer list here or a direct link I can grab when I'm either at home or get to better coverage tonight?

Damn, that's a way better list than the one at KI, wish I had paid more attention and went to the CP one, ah well, if it becomes annual I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
The day inside of the actual park gate they serve good liquor and cocktails though, I'll be a happy camper.
