How to ride right?

So I haven't been to CP in years and will be going in a few weeks.

I was wondering if some of you guys who have gone many many times over could help me navigate the park and rides more efficiently?

It has been suggested that I hit Magnum or TTD first. Can anyone give me a plan for which coasters to ride next and there after? I don't want to have to back track or anything. I'd like to do a complete circle and just keep going.

I have looked at the ceder point map that is hand drawn and it's difficult to set up a good plan of attack.

Also, I just want to hit the main coasters, I will probably hit thunderhawk, iron dragon, disaster transport, and max air later in the day.

Thanks for any and all help!

What the hell is "Thunderhawk"?

I think Thunderhawk is a coaster at Dorney (?) Perhaps he means the "Blue Streak".

Thunderhawk is the inverted coaster at Geauga Lake, I think he meant Raptor.

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

I think he looked up the wrong ride.

Hit Millennium Force first. Then ride it again if the line is short. Then go ride Power Tower and finish the day by riding Magnum 82 times ;)

Ben has got the right idea.Although I skip back and fourth between PT and Magnum and Gemini and, well you get the idea.

I meant Skyhawk, hence wishing to skip anything but the "main coasters". It's called CONTEXT, use your heads before you just start typing away and ruining my thread... I can not believe I refereed to the SkyHawk as ThunderHawk!!!!!!!!OMG!! Let's discuss it some more!!!!

Thanks Bholcomb and cpdad for being the only ones to actually attempt answering the question as opposed to focusing on what amounts to a 3 letter typo and just ignoring my question all together.

What I was actually looking for was a plan. I am sure some of you out there have it down where you know where you are going and what to go on next.

For example.

1.TTD
2.Raptor
3.Magnum

Etc.

I don't want to wonder around aimlessly while I'm there trying to figure out the best way to get from one coaster to the next is all.

Oh yeah, Skyhawk is another one to hit early,no line=repeat rides,my seven year old daughter loves it.

We usually stay two or three nights when we are at the point,so I spend quite a bit of time wandering around aimlessly.

Seven.

I will definitely get to it but I am a coaster man myself. I would like to keep the wondering around part down as much as possible as I will be going for one day and the park closes at 8 though(which is the reason for the thread).

Hey Mike Darling, go troll somewhere else. If you don't like, or are unable/unwilling to answering my question then go away. thanks.

If I were to go on a one day adventure it would be Millie first then Raptor then shoot over to TTD and hope it don't break down.Maggie hardly ever has a long line so you can catch it pretty much anytime.

TTD, I appreciate your contribution, and I surely will ride the MF multiple times(hopefully) but I was looking for foundation with which to work off of.

I would have thought that you guys that go 5 times a summer would have a routine of some kind? I am surprised.

Seriously, Millennium Force, Power Tower, Magnum, Gemini, Mean Streak, Mine Ride, Skyhawk, Train, Iron Dragon, Wildcat, Wicked Twister, Disaster, maXair, Demon Drop, Raptor, Blue Streak, Sky Ride, finish the night up on Dragster.

That seems somewhat do-able. Play lines by ear.

Honestly, those of us that go a bunch of times a year don't give a damn what we ride. We go for multiple re-rides on things like Magnum or Millennium Force or Gemini, etc. And we hang out with friends. And in Soak City. And sometimes in offices around the park.

1476 posts from our "troll" Michael Darling. He is a pretty established member of the board. You however are not. Get lippy with the old timers and see how far it gets you.

If you dont know for sure the names of the rides, you may want to do some research as to what they are.

As far as your plan I think I would hit X-Flight, the go to Superman the escape, then maybe go for a round on Shivering timbers.

In al honesty good luck hitting all the coasters in one day. Perhaps next year you should go earlier in the season for two days when the hours are later. I would at least hit Millie, Maggie, Raptor, Wicked Twister, TTD, another run on MIllie, and maybe a night ride on dragster. Use the other coasters when you can...try to wedge Gemini in at some point.

*edit* miniscule spelling error

Josh

What is a night right?

Save yourself alot of walking and take advantage of the ****free**** shuttle bus that goes around the point. There's a stop just outside of soak city by the magnum gate, one by the marina which is close to wildcat, and the front gate. Your feet will thank you at the end of the day. Most of the coasters are grouped up so hit one area of the par. Such as everyone says start with millie then do mantis, power tower, wildcat. Hit the shuttle bus and go back and hit magnum, gemini, woodstock express, jr gemini, corkscrew, ttd. Hit the shuttle again and go to the front of the park and hit raptor, dt, wt, maxair, blue streak. if you do it right you can avoid most of the crowds and ride everything. I've done it many times and rode every coaster on even the busiest days. You will have to walk around frontier trail atleast once to ride the mide ride and meanstreak. *** Edited 9/1/2006 4:31:13 PM UTC by JTaylor***
