How to make an MPEG?

I - like many other people here - have been saving a pic a day from the webcam, and I'd like to make an MPEG that would let me see the ride go up in timelapse. What's some good software out there (freeware or shareware preffered) that will let me do this?
I know that windows Movie Maker is a fairly easy to use video editing program. I don't know it it will let you put still images in your movie though, plus i think it only maves avi movies or wmf. If you have Win XP you should have this. You might be able to download it from microsoft. Ulead VideoStudio is a program that will do what you want. there is a 30 day trial version of it here:http://www.ulead.com/vs/trial.htm . As far as completely free programs, i don't know of any off the top of my head, but if you got to www.tucows.com, they have a huge listing of shareware/freeware software.

hope this helps

Dude, you're doing way too much work, use DeskCam, it will capture the image every 1 second or every 60 seconds, then MAKE THE VIDEO FOR YOU!!!

RIDE IT AGAIN!!!

Thanks to all who responded, i'll go check those out. As for DeskCam, even a picture per minute is too fast since construction progress is relatively slow, but I'll check it out anyway - it could be useful for other purposes.
