Car and Driver took a road trip to Cedar Point and brought their Racelogic Vbox testing rig. How quick is a roller coaster? Watch the video and find out. (Hint: Below 60 mph, it'll smoke almost anything on wheels.)
Wow, Top Thrill Dragster was tested at making it to 120 mph in 2.8 seconds versus a car that goes 0-60 mph in 1.6 seconds.
^What?
I got this from the video: 1.6 seconds to 60 MPH, and 2.8 to get to 120. That's a hell of a lot faster than they advertise.
^^Really, we're gonna start this? What year are you still in? ::ring ring::Hello? Oh yes one second. It's Dragster from 2003, 2004 and 05. They want you to stop referring to them and get over it.
Last time I checked, Millennium was down more days for maintenance in 08 and 09 than Dragster was.
See, it's quite simple. All you need to do is watch the big yellow tower. Though I guess you just notice the uptime and deny it for the heck of it? ;)
As for the video. That seemed like a pretty strong launch so I'm not surprised at the results. Dragster will always have the ability to max out 120mph a lot sooner than 3.7-4 seconds. This video is obviously proof of that.
P.S.- Shawn, those results were both from Dragster. At 1.6 seconds it reached 60mph and then 120mph at 2.8.
