How many Times have you been to Amusement Park?

I'm sitting here trying to figure out a way to go to an amusement park 50 times over the season. We already have our two trips planned to Cedar Point, which total 11 days. And one trip planned to King's Dominion, which is 3 days. I have Dorney Park and Six Flags Great Adventure only an hour away from my house. I am so JEALOUS of people who live that close to the Point. My question is what is the most times you visit one or multiple parks in one season? Last year I went to C P 10 times and Dorney 17. This year I added a six flags pass.

I think the best year I ever had was my senior year in high school. I went to BGE and Kings Dominion for spring break, spent 3 days at CP, 1 day at Holiday World, and probably about 15 days at Kings Island.

My first time to the Point was in 2003, I went with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and we spent 2 days there. In 2004 I went once in May with school, and again on a Saturday in October. In 2005 I was finally able to drive, but there was no way my parents were going to let me take their car out of the country. I still made it four times, for a total of 5 days in the park. In 2006 my numbers increased. I took a bus trip in May with school and then again in June. In July 3 friends and myself went and it was my first time driving to CP. In August I went with my family and we stayed at Sandcastle for one night. When Closing Weekend came around me and 2 buddies drove down and spent the last 2 days of the season in the park.

Last year I had my own car and a season pass so I was unstoppable. I wasn't able to get work off, so I missed Opening Day but drove down the next day instead. We arrived in Sandusky around 6:30 and went to the park just to buy our season passes so we wouldn't have to the next morning. It was 6:45 when I got my season pass in hand, so I took advantage of the 15 minutes before closing and ran to Magnum and got 3 rides, including the last train of the night. The next 2 days were beautiful weather so we spent a lot of time sitting on the deck of our LHP cottage relaxing in between riding. My next trip was Victoria Day, which was only a day trip but fun nonetheless. Less than 2 weeks late myself and 3 friends made a fairly spurr of the moment trip and drove down on a Sunday afternoon at the beginning of June only to be greeted by rain. By 9pm it cleared up and we got our first rides on Maverick. The next day the weather improved so it wasn't a total loss. After that I took a month break and didn't return until July 2, to find the park pretty busy. It was another day trip. I took another month break and finally returned August 7 for the day, and then again 3 weeks later on the 28 for the last trip before Halloweekends. My first Halloweekends trip wasn't until September 30 when I met a bunch of Pointbuzzers. Then of course my last trip of the year was Closing Weekend, including Friday and staying at LHP both night. I should also add that I visited Canada's Wonderland once in 2007.

Total days:
2003 - 2
2004 - 2
2005 - 5
2006 - 7
2007 - 13

I have my Platinum Pass already so hopefully my CP numbers will increase and I hope to venture down to Kings Island atleast once this year. A trip to CW is necessary to ride Behemoth.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I spent 48 days at just Cedar Point in 2006... if that counts.

Last year I visited Cedar Point 9 times, Geauga Lake 8 times, Kings Island 4 times, Kennywood twice, Waldameer twice, and a large swath of parks through southwestern Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee once.

FYI: IX Indoor Amusement Park opens March 21. Last year they were a little bit downsized from their previous lineup, so we'll see if that trend continues in '08.

I thought I had a pretty good "Grad Night weekend when I was a senior. We went to Geauga Lake one day and Cedar Point the next.

Then, my brother got really lucky. His school (in Florida) had plans to do Walt Disney World for Grad Night. One of his classmates entered an MTV contest...which she won...that allowed her to invite 92 of her "friends" to Disneyland in California for a private night there. So, one week they flew to California, did Disneyland (and Universal while they were out there)...had a free concert in the park by some relatively big bands, flew home and then went to Grad Night at Disney.

Whew!

When I worked at WDW I probably went into one of the parks a minimum of 4 days a week for 4 months straight. That was a busy season. Plus I hit Universal several times (pre IOA) while I was in town.

I went to CP for 6 nights/7 days, then 2 nights 3 days, then 1 night 2 days, than one day last year.
So that was uh lets see....14 days in the park from open to close with early entry every time.

Than the year before that we went once for a day but didn't manage the whole day because we were WIMPS. We came unprepared and we tackled way too much. It rained that day, we rode snake river falls with no change of clothes. We also went to the water park and didn't get a lot of riding in compared to our other trips.

Next year we plan on going a few times probably earlier in the season to avoid crowds, and to Michigan Adventures quite a few times to enjoy the waterpark / Shivering Timbers and our Vekoma. MIA is only 40 minutes from my house so it is a very easy trip. Everytime we leave though I say...you know for just $50 more in gasoline we could have went to Cedar Point.

I have considered venturing to other parks such as Canadas Wonderland, Dorney Park, Hershey Park, Six Flags Great Adventure. Basically making full fledged multi day trips just to enjoy an amusement park one day. While I would love to feel some new coasters, financially it is not the easiest. Cedar Point just "fits the bill". I could travel all the way to Dorney, Hershey Park and other parks far from Michigan just to ride 1 or two coasters that are pretty cool per park. Or I can just go to Cedar Point which has "it all".

Than I think well what about going a little south to Kings Island....well if your going that far south you mys well keep hitting up the rest of the parks around you now....

Needless to say I think we will be at Cedar Point quite a bit next summer. We know our way there and we know what to do and what not to do. We definitely will check out Six Flags Great America so we can ride Raging Bull next summer. After visiting Cedar Point soo many times you get used to the rides and are looking for different elements.

The most I have gone in one season has been 5 times. This summer I went three times, but next year I will for sure be going more now that I got a season pass!

I went to Cedar Point 7 times this year and thats it. Next year I plan on going around 12 and my family might take a 4 day vacation to Busch Gardens Virginia. So next year probably 14 or 15 times.

21 was the most I've ever done, and that was last year. Sadly, soon having to pay my own insurance will impact the amount of trips this year.:(

I've been to Cedar Point 39 times in 07,Geauga Lake 5 times and to Kings Island once. Probably wouldve made it to Cedar Point 50 times. I'm going to try for 50 times this season since Geauga Lake is only going to be a waterpark now.

Living in Windsor, it's kind of a bad location. Being 2 hours from Cedar Point is great, but MIA, KI, CW are all about 4 hours away in all different directions. A lot of times multi day trips are hard to organize between work schedules and such. Driving 4 hours home after a long day at a park can be much, but I will try it this year. Aside from those parks, there aren't any that are close. I'd like to check out Holiday World and SFGA but they're just too far.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Cedar Point 2006 = 30 visits
Cedar Point 2007 = 32 visits

But if you add up the time I was there vs. the hours the park was open on those days it's more like 15-16 visits each year. The shortest amount of time I was there was 1.5 hrs but at the end of a slow day you can get in a lot of rides.

I had 2 weeks vacation saved up and this year was planning on going to some other Cedar Fair parks that are somewhat close to ohio, but since the owner sold the dealership i wont have any vacation til after october 08.But maybe in 09 I'll go to another Cedar fair park

2007 Season

CP-34, KI-6, GL-1. This was the most visits to CP for me in a season and I still didn't seem to get enough. Ended the season with 2 rides on MF right before 8pm and did parent swap on TTD for my last ride of the season, I think I was in the last launch cycle. Lots of fun! :)

Well I've been making CP Journals 2001-2007, and I also have been gettin a Season Pass since 1987.
2001 = 22
2002 = 31
2003 = 37
2004 = 42
2005 = 33
2006 = 30
2007 = 16

Started counting in 06:

CP 2006 = 12

Overall 2006 = 26 (PKI, GL)

CP 2007 = 19

Overall 2007 = 38 (14 parks.. plus repeat visits to GL, BGA, USF, IoA)
