How many hours of testing?

How many hours of testing will Millennium Force go through before it opens. Does anyone know. I read on Thrill Ride that Cedar Point wants to put it through 1,000 hours of testing. Does anyone know if this is true?

That's over 41 days, seems a bit steep but who knows. Anyone have a copy of the Ohio state law on ride safety?

Given MF is a "new" technology, I wouldn't be surprised..

Hometown parks: Kennywood, Cedar Point!
108 days until the real "Millennium
Parks like Cedar Point are not required by any Ohio law to do anything but have the structure inspected for local building code compliance. I heard on TV numerous times last summer during all of those accidents that Ohio has now amusement ride laws per say except for carnival rides that must be inspected every time they are moved. The news said that parks like CP are "self policing" for safety. CP seems to have done a good job.

If it is done by the end of February liek they hope, I wouldn't be surprised if they run it for a full week or two, 12 hours a day to simulate full days under full load. They will probably also simulate different scenarios like emergencies, weather, etc. with the operators since they undoubtedly will let MF be run by long time employees, not some 17 year old yahoo that wants a minimum wage job to buy that new Backstreet Boys CD.

Other than the lift, what's new about the ride? Last I heard (from people who would know) they wanted to fire up the lift be next week. If they test 12 hours per day they'll need 83 straight days prior to May 6 to reach 1,000 hours.
