How many and what time?

How many people usually attend opening day at cedar point? Should i go to the opening day early so i can get in faster or is there gonna be a whole bunch of people there? I want to go for opening day this year and i want to find out what time to be at the gates so i dont have to wait forever. And if its before 8:00 then ill wait a few weeks then.

well concidering the addition of Maverick, needless to say there will be alot of people. But mostly they will head to the back of the park. It usually moves pretty fast relative to other parks to get in, it just depends on how much of a line you want to stand in as to when you should get there. Just move through the park opposite what everyone else would. Start at the front and gradually move to the back. And if you are going to wait a few weeks go the last weekend in May.

Well since Maverick is the new big ride, yes there will be allot of people. I can guarantee there will be a nice long line at the gates bright and early (me being part of it). Getting there early really is the only option if you want to get ahead of the big rush. Getting there at 8 won’t get you that far ahead. The best bet would be to get there before 7. But if 8 is the earliest your willing to go then you might as well wait. Go on the Monday (14th), I hear it’s supposed to be virtually empty.

Yes, Monday the 14th will be virtually empty.

A lot also depends on weather for opening day.

That being said, last year we got to the park at 8:50, waited 15 minutes to get our season passes, and were still one of the first 50 people in the park.

Of course, there was no Maverick....but think about it; locals and enthusiasts are the only people there. It will not be a bad day to be at the park. Unless you care about being one of the first people to run through the gate, getting there at 9-9:30 is sufficient.

my only opening day season pass experience was amazing and horrible. We waited 3 hours, then they messed up the passes which took another 1 hour.

when i said the last weekend, i was assuming that you would have school during the week.

Well i get 2 trips this year. One at the beginning of the season and one in august because the america's are back i school the last week of august.

I'd go on Sunday, but Mother's Day is off limits for a CP trip.

This will be my first opening day I will be going to and I don't care if it will be crowded or not, I'm heading for Maverick first thing. See all you guys at the Soak City entrance bright and early. :)

People have school and work.

I have done the opening day thing in the past. But its different now that I have my own business. I receently opened my own travel agency. Anyway, I am traveling to the Riviera Maya for a training event later that week and will not be able to do the opening day thing. However, I do not usually ride many rides on opening day but it is a lot of fun.

A day my mother would like me to spend time with her. But you're are right, I don't go on Father's Day either.

cpfreak08, the Soak City/Resort gates are the best place to be come opening day.

Monday is going to be More Gooder. I'll be there.

^Hell yeah it's gooder. The Maverick and the TTD will have little to no lines. I would go but I have go to the school to get the grades I need to get to the college I want to get in. :)

If I'm not there opening day, I'll probably meet you on Monday Ben. A one day trip doesn't sound like a bad idea.
