We are driving to CP tommorrow morning. In the past (because yahoo told me to) we always went around Cleveland via 271 then 422 and then 480 and back to route 90/route 2. Seems a little out of the way. Is it quicker to just take 90 right through Cleveland? We should be hitting Cleveland sometime around 8am or so.
Even with the morning rush, staying on I-90 straight through is your best bet. You'll easily add 30 minutes to your trip by going to 480 (plus the traffic is probably worse there than downtown!).

Traffic sucks in Cleveland during rush hour! Not as bad as other cities, but certain construction areas are a total pain.
I assume you're coming in from Rochester? Just take I-90 right through. The innerbelt west at that time isn't bad at all. You'll probably hit a little slow action around dead man's curve, but you should be golden after that.

This isn't in Cleveland, but if you are going to CP tomorrow and are going through Bucyrus, be very careful. The bratwurst festival is going on and all the major roads are closed, causing a large detour.
