How intense is TTD?

The last time I was at CP TTD was closed, so I didn't get to see it running in person. The question I have is how intense is the launch and g forces when you're going straight up the hill? I usually experience some black out when going up the first banked hill on MF. Has anyone who rode TTD experienced anything like this?

The launch is very powerful. It's nonstop accelleration. The g's going up the tower aren't very high. If you black out on TTD then you miss the whole thing, that's how short it is.

I also black out on the over bank turn on MF. i rode TTD 4 times this year, 3 times in the front and not once did i have a black out.
I've only ever once "grayed out" on MF (the first turn). Lack of hydration, fatigue, an empty stomach, heat and humidity had everything to do with it. ..But to be honest with you, I kind'a liked it!

TTD makes the new rider tense, but the ride is way to smooth to be overly intense. it's more insane than intense!

Isn't this getting into a different subject?

TTD is intense in my opinion. The first time I rode it, I could barely think, it was that fast. It goes kind of "slow" (like 119.99999...mph instead of 120) if you ride it after a long period of downtime.

Where would we be without CP?:)

I was just trying to compare TTD to a ride I have already experienced. I wasn't sure if the g forces sustained after going down the first hill on MF and straight up the overbanked turn would have a similar feeling of going very fast down the launch and then straight up the TTD hill. Just curious. Either way Im still gonna get a ride next time I go to CP

The best way I've heard it described, its intensity is like an orgasm of speed.

Its so fast and intense that you really don't have time to proccess what is going on until you hit the brakes at the end then the entire ride just kinda catches up with you. Its like outrunning your senses.

But then again, what do I know?

Liebevision is definately right. The other factor that makes a difference is where you sit on the ride. You all experience the same relative forces, but how it feels to you personally is different in each seat -i.e.: sitting in the front row with nothing to stop the wind from warping your face. :)

The launch truely is powerful and fun, but not as intense as I thought it would be. I ranked all launch coaster by G forces and TTD came in at number 5 above RnR (#8), but as I remember RnR, it felt like that launch was significantly more powerful (maybe due to the lack of lighting) than TTD. Bottom line, TTD is a great ride and VERY re rideable. I have 5 rides under my belt and cannot wait to try it in the front seat. I also wish it were a bit longer (oh well).

The Launch itself is intense and you don't really have time to register what just happened untill you get off the ride but for some parts its fun.

Wait, I think I hear one of those Silent Alarms.

Camp Snoopy 2000-2002
Mean Streak 2003

It took me 4 or 5 daytime front seat rides to notice the roof of paddle wheel excursion having "paddlewheel excursion" on it.

Now I am curious, did they add that to that roof or was it there all along?

Anyway, to me front seat is a must.

Depends on how you measure intensity. It feels like the most intense thing you've ever experienced, atleast the first 3 or 4 rides, but in terms of actual g's I doubt it's near the top in terms of accelleration or positive/negative g's.

i didnt notice any significant amount of g's going up the hill, but i did notice that i just seemed to go up and up and up. if you watch the pov video on the cedar point website, the ride is actually just like that except for more colorful and the launch seemed kind of blurred to me.

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Top Thrill Dragster's launch average acceleration is about 1.4G's. Dodonpa's average acceleration is about 2.7 G's. Xcelerator averages at about 1.6 G's as well as Storm runner. Hyersonic XLC average acceleration is about 2.1 G's.

Eddy the retard is awesome.

TTD is a powerful ride, but the launch on it is gentler than Wicked Twister.

Wicked Twister : 1.7 G

TTD: 1.5 G

The difference is, TTD is longer than Wicked's. That's why people can handle both launches. If TTD had a launch rating of 1.7 G's, no one would ride it, because it would be painful for them... A lot of people would black out on the launch.

I think that I saw TTD go anywhere from 120 MPH up to 126. I've heard it got to 130 MPH one time...

TTDFan-

That's total bologna. Wicked Twister doesn't launch anywhere near it's alleged speed anymore so it's nowhere near those numbers.

Wicked Twister's first launch is about 1.2 G's. The launch does not accelerate 0-72 in 2 seconds. It only reaches that speed after a couple swings.

Wicked Twister never hit 72 mph on the launch. The WT launch hasn't changed at all, what has changed is reduced power on the first backward run.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Speaking of intensity... I know rumors are like flys on a pile of horse dung..... but a TTD enthusiast told me that some people have been complaining of vision problems since riding TTD. Anybody else heard of this?
