How do parks get $ for the discount tiks?

I know that certain merchants and companies sell discounted tickets for CP and KI and I was just wondering how that is done. At the beginning of the season do the merchants/companies pay CP or KI for all the tickets they have to sell or do they send CP and KI the amout for the tickets they sold?
If the latter is correct how does CP or KI know they are getting the correct amount from the merchants/companies?

I know it seems a silly ? but wondering how it works! :)

Group sales. They pay for the tickets that are scanned at the gate in most cases. They used to do some pre-pays years ago, but I'm not sure if they still do in the age of Gate Central. When we were doing KI events, we paid after the event, based on the number of scanned tickets.
