How busy will Friday 10/5/2007 be?

I got spoiled a few years ago when I went to Mellinum Madness and never waited more than 10 minutes in line. I've never been to the Halloweekend, does the park get busy? How long of lines do you think there will be on Friday night?

Can you suggest a better day to go, with less lines?

Answer here.

Generally, Friday's are less busy for Halloweekends than Saturdays. The limited ride availability keeps many people away.

It's pretty amazing how many times a thread like this still comes up.

I can guarantee that October 8th will have NO lines! Everything will be a walk on!

Actually you're only half right.

There will be no lines, but nothing will be a walk-on.

Well... technically you could try to "walk on"... but you would certainly be "escorted out"...

Why does it seem so amazing? I could see this being a dumb question if it was in regard to the middle of the summer when the park is in full swing, but it isn't.

I am not familiar with the popularity of Cedar Point's late season special weekends. I was familair with Millenium Madness and was trying to see if the Halloweeekends compared to that experience, which was very enjoyable.

I also realize there are variables which nobody can forsee with great accuraccy. I however do think some of you people would be able to guess if it somehwere between being completly dead with me being the only person at the park... and it being so packed its like a midseason saturday with nice weather and having 3 hour lines.

If that not the case, then I'm sorry for wasting all your time... and you can color me stupid.

PS - Purple is my favorite color.

Like two or three of these pop up every week. And John has the same answer everytime! :)

Is the 8th or 12th Columbus Day? I have the 11th and 12th off in school so I don't even know which one is actually Columbus Day

The 8th is the US observed Columbus day. It is also the Canadian Thanksgiving.

8th = Columbus Day 'observed'

12th = Columbus Day 'traditional'

Don't take it personal belome. It's just that the "how busy will the park be on..." threads pop up alot. I understand why you would think some here may have some experience with the special weekends probable crowd levels though. :)

Peace Love Hope

You know, I once had a very in depth talk with a good freind who was a geologist. I was attempting to acertain how long it took for a cup of water to filter through the earth and reach the water table.

I asked him the question and he seemed stumped. He couldn't offer any type of answer because he said it was ambigous. I decided to narrow it down:

I said... If I urinated outside my backdoor [at college where he studied], how long would my urine take to reach ground water. He was perplexed. He insisted it took way more many variable to process the information than he had available.

Being the nice chap that I am, I started narowing it down for him. I said: 1 cup of urine, 30" rainfail per year average, no soil anomoties, and no surface anomolties.

Now, I realize he can't be specific, because there are so many other varaibles. So I made it multiple choice. Does it take 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 year, 1 century, or 1 millenium, or never.

He couldn't narrow it down, not even a bit. Not from 1 hour to 1 million years. Seriously, does that make sense? I didn't think so.

I'm not asking anyone for solid numbers here. I'm not asking for an exact number. I want to know if you think there will be a 10 minute wait or a 3 hour wait? Yeah, its specualtion, I realize this, but I know all about anomolties and I deal with them.

If you did a little bit of searching (cough TRs) you would find that Fridays during Halloweekends are traditionally the best time to go. While the holiday weekend may make it more crowded, when I went for opening Friday, there was a 40 min wait for Maverick, 20 min for UR Dade, and less then 5 min wait for everything else (yes that includes TTD and MF.) No one is taking it out personally on you belome but lately there has been a lot of threads like this, which after you read this board for a while really start to annoy you.

There is a solution to this problem that everyone, those seeking answers and those who are tired of seeing the question, will be happy with. That solution won't appear, however, until PointBuzz 2.0. Until then, everyone play nice.

"Do not pass when opposing traffic present" -

But to be fair, you really should qualify why the sign is present. This sign only exists on two lane roads that have a passing lane. They put it up when there is a passing lane for cars going the other direction so people realize they should not pass even if the car coming from the other direction is in the outside lane.

I see you even went to the trouble to make sure you can't see the passing lane in the pic you provided.
