Hourly locker procedure?

We normally travel light carrying .97 Wally World ponchos and don’t use lockers but Saturday is going to be a unique situation for us as my 12 year old will be there with his orchestra friends and will not have access to the school bus and I want him to hang with his friends and not us. With the cooler weather and showers forecast it could be a jacket on/jacket off kind of day. I could get the family an all day locker up front but was thinking a more centrally located one like Millennium would be better.

Are the hourly still $2 for 2 hours? And do you just have to feed the kiosk another $2 to gain access if you go over your initial 2 hours? We will likely only be there for 12-8 to match the school group schedule so if I have the pricing right it would be a wash between just getting hourly versus an all day locker.

You can get an all day, moveable locker now. Even if you don't move it to a different location, you still can reserve it for the whole day. I'm not sure how much it is, but I'm sure it's cheaper than paying $1 an hour.

Glad to see they are finally copying 6 Flags with the movable locker system but, are they charging more than the $8/day that they charge at Great Adventure?

Are these All-Day Lockers in more locations than just the main gate and CPS (as stated on the park's FAQ)?

If it work like 6 Flags, you are given the choice of using any locker as a one time use or as movable. It is movable as long as you open it in less than 2 hours. You basically use your phone number plus a 4 digit pin. When you remove your stuff, you are allowed to check in to another bay of lockers for up to 2 hours using your phone number and pin...It's very convenient to carry more crap with you around the park.

Yes. but I'm not quite sure how it works - either you check out of your locker at the kiosk before you leave, or you just take your stuff, and when you get to the next location you select "move locker to this location" and it lets you transfer it to that kiosk.

I have only used the lockers once this year where I had to pay, and it was for a single ride on Steel Vengeance, so I haven't played with the move feature yet.

The ones I used, you don't check out of at the kiosk. I believe, as a courtesy, you can hit the end button on your locker to make it available, though.

I guess I would be careful if you think you won't be able to open it in 2 hours. I would think then it will become your locker for the rest of the day. I never had to wait more than 2 hours for a ride though.

So, when you get to the new one is where the “move locker” button becomes your action. Good to know. I’m a fan of throwing everything in a locker and enjoying a worry free ride.

Unless, of course, it’s spring or fall and I’m wearing a jacket or hoodie with zipper pockets.

Wow. The roaming locker thing would be great for certain days and is a huge improvement but the devil is in the details. Will have to check this out tomorrow. I could see utilizing a locker more often if it were more convenient.

See CP, if you offer a service your customers actually want and is a benefit to them instead of being a gouge they are likely to spend more money. :D. Another example is the disposable drink cup plan. I now spend $90 a year for 3 plans instead of the family sharing 1 $30 souvenir cup.

Edit: Actually make that $120 as my wife should be able to make it this year.

Are they switching from the station bins to lockers to help capacity or to make an extra buck?

I mean, really. A locker isn't really *that* expensive, especially if it keeps your $1000 cell phone, $200 glasses (or sunglasses, whatever they may be), wallet with all of your cards and personal information, and car keys from laying on the ground beside the ride.

I'll gladly pay the $2

But utilizing the ride lockers can easily add up to $20 or more for a full day at the park. Each is a minimum for $2 regardless of how long you use it. For instance at Magnum you may only need it for 20 minutes. I can stomach a $10 all day roaming charge. Hopefully that is all it is.

Or, you leave it in the Magnum locker and go ride Dragster and whatever else, and come back to it within 2 hours?

Well sure you can limit yourself in the park to certain areas and then have to double back to get your stuff before moving on to the next section. It can be done but isn’t efficient or convenient or the best day ever or how I like to enjoy to park. Roaming is. Although traveling light when possible is still the best option.

Went opening day and took advantage of the multi use. The cost was 10 bucks, and each time you moved you were given another 3 hours.
It was pretty easy to figure out. When you decide to move lockers, just take your items and go to the new locker location and on the kiosk select move my locker or something along those lines. Then the system gives you a new locker and you now have 3 hours to come back. What happens after the time limit I have no idea.

This is great, I've been hoping they go to a system of this sort for a while now... Makes me more likely to get the souvenir cup... I enjoy an obscene amount of ice in my drink and the little throw away cups just don't cut it...

I too enjoy an obscene amount of ice in my (non-alcoholic) drinks!
