Does anyone know what the average occupancy rate is for the hotels at CP during the season? Do they come close to filling all the rooms available?
ROUNDABOUND.
From what I've heard, the hotels are at 100% occupancy during peak periods.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
So the loss of rooms at Breakers could cause price increases above & beyond the expected increases with renovations...
ROUNDABOUND.
They've fully renovated all rooms, eliminated space sold at a discount due to being older and less desirable, and you have general improvements to the outside, access, parking, etc.
Logically prices are going to rise, to what level I can't begin to guess.

Perhaps, but also remember, the lost rooms were the bottommost prices. Now that they are no longer available, those folks that would only stay at Breakers for cheap won't stay there at all, which would be reflected in less overall demand for occupancy. Perhaps it's a wash, shrug.
I think the new cabins at Lighthouse were to add increased lodging on point to compensate for the loss of Bon Air rooms.

and at a considerably higher rate per night as well. While I didn't like seeing the old circle "B" go away (self-serving reasons only) no doubt it was the right move to do.

I don't think it's a great mystery... check out the pricing for Coastermania. Now add dollars during July and August. :)

Ding ding!
I'm wondering if the rooms in the rotunda will be available again. I would assume so with all the money they are spending. Those would account for some of the lost rooms. According to the website they have 511 rooms. I know at one time, they had over 1,000. And that was before the Tower and Breakers East were built. I could be wrong, but I think some of the less desirable rooms that had wings attached to the rotunda were used for employees. I wonder if that will still be the case.

Go on their reservations site and type in a date in July and it shows the Rotunda room layouts, available to book!
I also see that on the 10th floor and probably some other floors, that they have a selection listed as a combination suite, where they joined two queen bed rooms together to hold 8 guests (4 queen beds in two rooms with 2 full baths).
