Hotel question

As I stated in another topic, I will be on CP next Thrusday and Friday for the first time. Actually, this is the first time I will be on Sandusky.

I'm traveling with my wife and child and another couple with a child of their own, and we will be staying at Best Western in Norwalk.

Does any of you know anything about this hotel? Also, the hotel information says that it is 15 miles/25 minutes from CP. Is that accurate? How is the traffic along the 250?

Thanks.

There is a Best Western right outside the park. You should try to get a room there. There is also an Econo Lodge right outside the park too. If you don't mind paying a little more they have Breakers Express just as you turn into the causeway going into the park. Check them out.
We were going to stay in a few hotels that were 15-25 minutes away from CP as well. However we checked into Breakers Express and it is only $59 a night right now. (we are going to be there Sunday night) Plus if you have a Cedar Point Getaway Guide they have a $10 off every nights stay for Breakers Express, so it really ends up only being $49! (I think it may even be on the CP website) Definitely worth it...plus you get early access to the park with the JCC members.
The Best Western is a nice motel. It is a couple of years old. It is about a 20 minute drive from Cedar Point during the week.
I stayed at the Microtel hotel on Rye Beach and you can't beat it for the $$$. Nice room, 24 hr pool and hot tub, very nice staff. When I can't afford to stay at CP I'll be staying there.
Hey guys, this is a long shot, but are their any hotels that don't have a 21-or-older age limit for reservation? My friends and I have been calling around, but no luck so far. Sigh... I suppose we can always just sleep in a wal-mart parking lot =).
O Gemini, where art thou? Guys, CALL THE HOTELS FOR ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED!!! This isn't a hotel info board, it's a CP info/rumor board!!! By the way Whipperstapper, if you're underage, why did you say this in another topic, if I may ask:

In conclusion: Stick to the local fair, sonny.

May I point out the "sonny"?

20 minutes sounds about right...we stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Milan which is just north of Norwalk (between the turnpike and Norwalk) and it took us 15 minutes to get to the CP tollbooths on opening day. We left the hotel just before 8 am and had very little traffic, but we had JCC so wanted to be there before 9 am. The closer to opening, the more traffic there will be.

When approaching the turnoff from 250, they generally have two right lanes open to handle the traffic.

MF&WTer, in the couple years I've been on this forum, people have been allowed to ask questions about the local hotels. Calling a hotel isn't going to get you an honest opinion about the condition and service.

MF&WTer....maybe you should be more polite to Whippersnapper. And why treat him like a kid? According too your profile you're about the same age if not younger.

The Breakers Express deal seems to be good. And the early entry benefits make it all the better. The Red Roof mentioned above by OldCPer sounds nice and close as well.

Has anyone ever stayed in the Ramada?
