When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

I received that for my visit last weekend. There was also an option for early check-in, and late check-out.

As a frequent guest at Hotel Breakers, I've received tons of free room upgrades over the years, and always check in early.

So it seems that they've just wised up, and decided to cash in on upgrades instead of giving them away.

What type of free upgrade were you given from they type of room you paid for?

I received this as well today. I am staying this coming weekend at HB and staying in a 2 queen bed room.

My upgrade options were suites that ranged from $49 to $69 extra per night of stay. I put in for all three of the suite options. It is not guaranteed though.

I also had option for early and late check in that were $30 extra for entire stay.

I really like this.

So other than the fact that it means you don't have to spend 15 minutes driving into Sandusky, is Breakers worth it? I mean honestly, I have yet to ever stay there because the rooms are like $200+ a night. This is from a guy who spends money like water also, but only if I'm getting something for it.

Being able to walk back to your room for a little bit to relax, especially with kids, is worth the price alone. It all depends on your approach to the park....if its a rush to ride every ride as much as you can from open to close, then it's probably not worth it.

It's also nice to visit Fridays after the park closes, and not worry about having to drive anywhere.

Yeah Josh, but there's now a Buffalo Wild Wings in walking distance to a lot of hotels :)

I typically reserve a room in the Bon Air section of the hotel. In the past I've received free upgrades to the tower section more times than I can remember. For those who don't know the difference, the Bon Air has older rooms with 2 double beds and no elevators, compared to the Tower, which has newer rooms with primarily 2 queen beds, a refrigerator and elevator access. I was getting a great deal!

But I understand it makes sense for Cedar Point to try to cash in on upgrades as much as possible. And judging by Capt Spaulding's reaction above, it's probably a good strategy.

That particular BWW sucks more than usual, and I should know. I usually head over there (walking distance) from where I park my RV at Walmart on Sundays during HW, after the park closes.

Sure, but BDubs doesn't have a beach right outside - and 3 AM sand angels are always a good perk.

Until Breakers has reasonable prices for their ammenities, I won't partake..I'll be happy with the newly remodeled Studio 6 off of Rt 6 & Rye Beach..Very nice queen suites

^^Agreed. The number of sand angels I do is directly proportional to my overall satisfaction.

Or number of beers in you.

Actually, the number of beers or shots determines the quality and quantity of sand angels.

We stayed there last year in October. The reservation was for a suite with one bed and a sofa bed in the main section. They gave us a room that was in the east part which was a lake view suite that costs about $100 more, and it was at no additional cost to us. We didn't ask for this either.
