Hold For a Drop???

Question of the day...lol
Does MF hold you at the top of the hill before you take that Nestea plunge?
I have ridden Steel Force at Dorney(Magnum's sister coaster) and it pauses at the top of the lift hill for a sec before you drop.I was wondering if Millennium Force did the same?
Would be terrific if it did so you get to think about how crazy you are for riding the thing!Lol
No, in fact it starts to "launch" you over the top about 2/3 the way up the hill.
Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I noticed the lift speed up as we approached the top. After riding, I think I know why the lift is so fast. A longer lift at that angle would just become uncomfortable after a while.

Cp or anyone...is that why it gets the speed it does?I know Steel Force doesnt reach the 70mph mark until after the 2nd hill. Not sure about Magnum.I was curious where MF picks up the 92 mph speed.

4 MORE DAYS TILL I FEEL THE FORCE!!!
LET THE FORCE BE WITH US ALL!!!!!
I'm not entirely certain whether the bottom of the first hill or the straightaway into the tunnel is lower, but I'd image that the bottom of hill 1 is the fastest section.

And alternately -- from gravity. =) *** This post was edited by Bill on 7/12/2000. ***
I believe that Rideman explained this before, and he said that the lift speed doesn't really effect it's initial maximum speed. I think the reason the lift speeds up is because the third train has passed it's block by moving in to the unloading station, so the computer knows it's safe to launch the train.

It gets up to speed at the bottom of the hill, and all you can hear is the wind whipping past your ears (as in the POV on the official site) and the yelling and screaming of exciting passengers.
hehe... exciting passengers screaming is always a good thing... oh wait... i forgot that it's a family park, not a park for making families ;)
Well like I stated in an earlier post, the pov video doesnt really show you much. You cant tell how fast you are going.Someone had a great idea when they suggested using a police radar gun to determine speed.I thought it took at least the first hill and turn b4 it reached 92mph.
