High Winds

I've heard that TTD has been down a bit lately due to high winds. I was wondering, anyone have any idea, roughly, about Dragster's limitations to the wind? I mean do they have to be like 30 mph?
35 mph near or at the top, I believe.

Sorta a dumb question, but how do they know how fast the winds are at 420 feet?
Same way they know how fast they are at 5 ft, 10 ft, etc... the little spinning wind-ometers (I'm sorry I don't know what they're called, and I'm too lazy to look it up).
There is a small weather station on the tower. Equipment that measures wind speed, among other things.

That's cool.
well dragster is a weather station and is now used to high winds so is millenium force at the top of each hill there is a pole sticking up to messure the wind speed temperature and if a storm is comeing.

Also the reason Dragster would be down is if u look write when u enter the ride, the section were it bends to make the train go up the towe is very shaken i saw it last year it would move to side to side alot that would make the train not go ever thats what the men were saying to me, the maintness people.

dbski, check out the top of Magnum when you go over. You'll notice the spinning thing on top measuring the windspeed. There is one on MF as well. Its amazing what the wind difference is between ground and 205 feet. It can be a gentle breeze on the ground, and cut through clothing when you're riding up the lift.

I'm a pilot myself and grounds can be 2knots out of the north,420ft could be 15 out of the south and so on. the wind makes several sheers and is very different up into the hundreds and thousands of feet.

You know you're having a good day when you're looking at the green side of the grass and not the underside.

Are ya g* Damn Serious, about how they know what the winds are at 420 feet. Did you really ask that question. To answere it's not a little plastic spinny thingy like on Magnum or Sky ride its a digital meter, if it was the spinny thing, it would fly off the tower by force, think about the "Good Year" And the winds have to be below 25 mph constant and can not gust above 30 mph
