Hi all

Hi, I'm new to this forum and have never been to CP but we are going June 21,22 this year. My questions have probably been asked before but any help is appreciated.

I read in the intro the park often opens earlier than the schedule says. Is this the case most days, or is it only at certain times?

Do any of the busier rides have tickets that allow you on at a designated time, like at Disney?

Thanks
Welcome to the boards, Warthog - to answer your questions:

-In all the years before this year, the gates would open 1 hour before the rides. Depending on the hours of the particular day, it was usually 9am gate opening and 10am ride opening. However, this year, BOTH the gates and the rides open at 10am. They do sometimes open the gates at 9:55am or whatever, but I assume you were referring to the 9am opening.

-Last year from June on, the park tried a program called Ticket to Ride, similar to Disney's FastPass, and used it for Millennium Force. Some people loved it, some hated it, but in the end they decided to ditch the idea (believe me, it doesn't work NEARLY as well as FastPass). So this year, there is no ticket system.

Hope that helps! :)

June 21 and 22 shouldn't be bad for lines, so I wouldn't worry about that at all. Definately get there early (8am-ish) to get your tickets if you don't have them already and be the first through the gates! It wouldn't hurt to pick up a brochure (rest areas along the highways will have tons) and study the map beforehand to know where to go. But most of all, have fun! :)

Do the brochures actually have the map in them? I believe you have to pick up a fun guide at The Point. I would just print off the map from CedarPoint.com just in case.

Hey...I'm new to the forums here on GTTP too, and even though I already started a thread (about character signs), I suppose I should introduce myself for those who don't recognize me from Coasterbuzz. Next fall, I will be a sophomore at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH, but during the summer I live in my hometown of Marblehead, OH, which is right across the Sandusky Bay from CP. There are some great views of the CP skyline, by the way. Anyway, I have been a CP passholder for 13 years and am excited to be able to talk to people about my favorite get-away place. By the way, I am not really a moron (at least I think that). The screen name is just a play on words of my last name.
